Good food with prompt service and friendly staff. Recommended.

We had a fabulous evening. Atmosphere was great, staff super friendly and helpful and both the food and wine were excellent. Cannot recommend Lewis' enough. Thank you, Lewis', for a wonderful experience!

We travel from Kent Twice a year every year and stop in Grasmere. We have had so many meals in Lewis’s Bistro and had so many different variety of meals. I can honestly say not once have we had a bad experience. The food is absolutely fantastic. The staff are always so friendly and polite. The ambiance is very good. 5 star rating. I would definitely recommend Lewis’s Bistro to anyone. A Friendly place to enjoy good food and wine. Roy Jarrett

Elegant bistro serving fine dining experience in comfortable surroundings. The food was excellent as was the service. Perfect for a special occasion as it feels like a real treat rather than just somewhere to get a meal. We saved it for our last night in Grasmere whilst on holiday and it didn’t disappoint.

Delighted to have stumbled on Lewis’s and to have been able to make a booking for the following evening. A really delicious meal, with lots of interesting options to choose from. Great service in a beautiful location.

We very much enjoyed our meal in a pleasant atmosphere and with very good service and will certainly return. One or two very minor tweaks could have further elevated the overall quality of my main course, the sirloin steak, to another level. The quality of the steak was excellent and it was cooked precisely as requested. However, the meal deserved better than 'skinny fries' that are more appropriate to a fast food joint. In addition, what seemed to be frozen garden peas probably weren't actually needed, and again are not really appropriate to this kind of restaurant. These seemed like rather lazy options but didn't detract from an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Great place with excellent food, lovely staff and very dog friendly. Have booked to enjoy another fantastic meal.

We had a wonderful meal. Nice ambience. Accidentally got three orders of scallops instead of the one we ordered but given we were a group of four (one had a seafood allergy) the other three of us were pleased with the error as they were simply delicious. Mains also great!

What a find! A real gem of a restaurant in the tweeness of Grasmere. Proper bistro style; really good food, good selection of wine but most important - super friendly professional staff and a real buzz. We'll be back.

Lovely little bistro/restaurant in popular village of Grasmere. I had the slow cooked belly pork, which did literally melt in my mouth. My partner, who only has a small appetite, had the macaroni cheese from the starter menu, and this was perfectly balanced between the different cheeses used. We shared a sticky toffee pudding. I must admit I am very wary about going for this option as it is on every pudding menu and my expectations have been set by the makers of Cartmel STP, but I can report that this was up there with the best. The menu is small, and the prices aren't cheap, but that does reflect the quality of the ingredients and the cooking, so I would heartily recommend this place

First visit to Lewis's for my friend and I. Nice cosy atmosphere with very good/friendly service. We both had rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection. For sweet we had sticky toffee pudding and vanilla cheesecake which nicely finished off a great dinning experience. We would definitely visit again the next time we are in the Lake District.

We went for a meal on our last night in Grasmere on our Wedding Anniversary, we had a lovely evening the food and service were perfect. Great way to end our week in the Lake District. We would recommend eating out in this restaurant.

A lovely restaurant. The food was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. The service was quick but you never felt rushed.

Visited on a busy Wednesday night but we were able to book only 2 days in advance even when town was very busy. Food was gorgeous I had baked Camembert, sea bass and sticky toffee pudding and all cooked to perfection. My husband had black pudding, chicken and cheesecake although he wanted the lamb but it had sold out by the time we were ordering. Service was excellent, food came out promptly and staff were on hand should we need anything. Would definitely recommend
