Best avoided. Lousy service, rude staff and no atmosphere. If you want to know why pubs are closing visit the Ship. Won't last unless it bucks up its ideas and fast.

The Ship Inn – Herne BayWe were invited to your restaurant last September when you had the Tom Jones tribute night .What a fantastic evening....The food was great...The staff and service great(we both have been working in fine dining restaurants in the States and haven't experienced the like since we've been back in the U.K)..Great show also..Can't wait to come back...
Giacomos – SevenoaksWe visited the Halfway House by chance. My wife and I were out one Monday on one of our World Tour of Kent, and came across the Halfway House. We were greeted by a lovely young lady who showed us to a table, she introduced herself and told us that she would be looking after us. And that she did, unfortunately I can’t remember her name. We ordered a drink and was told she would be back in a little while, and she was. we placed our orders, it seemed within seconds our Starters arrived, and within 2-3 minuets of finishing our main course arrived. On completion the young waitress ask if we would like a desert, which we both declined because we were both so full. I would recommend the Halfway House to any how has a hearty appetite because you will need it. It’s so good that we have been back 4 or 5 times
Halfway House – AshfordVisited Coast to Coast recently. Great food and very nice and friendly staff. Will visit again next week .
Coast to Coast – RochesterFabulous friendly atmosphere and the fish was bigger than the plate! Love this pub at any time but esepcially at Christmas - the walk along the Bayle to the venue and then the pub full of locals with Christmas cards in a collection box is priceless - as are the musical ornaments. Christmas of Dickens past. Will be visiting again soon.
The British Lion – FolkestoneWhat a fine advertisement this pub is for Britsh food. Super fresh ingredients, superbly cooked and presented with a comprehensive selection of drinks, including craft ales, a gin menu and 12 wines by glass. One of my favorite haunts in this beautiful medieval village.
The George and Dragon – SandwichHad great food , great service and a lovely pub.
Napier Hotel – SheernessToday sat 5th sept 2015 had rib of beef, the best I have had for a long time, well done. Vic Margaret and Pamela.
The Plough & Harrow – DealI would have given a rating if zero if I could, as we never got to taste the food. We are incredibly disappointed with the Avenida Restaurant. We called them to arrange my mother's 70th birthday party, as this is in December, we started the process in early August. After calling and speaking with the manager, we made a provisional booking for 60. Obviously we needed to send out invites and wait for replies, so the manager told us to call back with the final number and to pay the deposit in early September, but when we called back on 3rd of September, we were told that they had booked 2 other large parties in, and now couldn't accommodate us. The excuse was that while the manager was on holiday someone had taken the bookings, so it wasn't his fault. There was no contrition or apology, nor any willingness to put things right, instead, when we asked whether he was concerned about how he was treating us, and any negative publicity for his restaurant, we were told he 'had been in business 40 years', I presume he usually treats customers better, or perhaps he was saying 40 years has made him embittered, and he just doesn't care any more. Either way, thank goodness for George's Greek Taverna, just down the road. They have been incredibly accommodating. My advice to the manager at the Avenida is, there are several new and established Mediterranean restaurants in the area now, so if you want to stay in business another 40 years, you need to treat your customers with more respect.
Avenida Restaurant – BexleyheathWe visited on August bank holiday Monday to find the Pippin rather empty, probably due to the poor weather. My son wanted to order a sandwich/drink and side from the Monday-Friday sandwich deal. He asked for a ham and cheese ciabatta which was declined as they had no ham ! He then reconsidered and asked if he could have an alternative filling, but still on ciabatta. This was apparently not possible. Why I ask, on a quiet afternoon, could the Pippin not comply with his request? No wonder, we have seen a steady decline in the amount of friends taking their customer elsewhere. With an alternative venue having recently opened in close proximity, whose car park is always full, come on The Pippin on get your act together !
