Had a lovely meal at the Pheasant. There was a nice atmosphere, the service was efficient and quick. The portions were large. Good variety of dishes and drinks.

Fantastic Sunday lunch, cooked beautifully, massive Yorkshire pudding. Piping hot food. Wonderful, attentive, friendly and caring staff. Love this place.

We visited for Sunday lunch and really disappointed. Food was cold and waited over 90mins for it to arrive. Staff were inattentive and ignored people. Quality of food not great and so wouldn’t recommend.

Unfortunately our experience yesterday (2nd November 2025) wasn't our best. We've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years, when we visit Keswick. The waiting time was very long, as I think our order got lost as we were witnessing meals coming out to people who had sat down way after ourselves. Eventually we had to ask where our meal was, and when it did arrive one meal was not what we had ordered, so I said just leave it and I'll have the beef. The beef was inedible, couldn't cut or chew it. So Unfortunately we had to complain and go home hungry. So disappointed as this has always been one of our favourite restaurants when we come to Keswick. We have booked for midweek on our stay and we shall honour this booking and hopefully our review will change...

Excellent atmosphere with friendly, humorous and courteous staff. Quality of food is excellent with very generous portions. It serves pub food as it should be unlike many of the other pubs in Keswick which can be overpriced and mediocre!

Average for a Sunday Roast. We’ve been here for Sunday Roast for the past 3 years and sadly I would say standards are dropping slightly. The area we were seated in yesterday was draughty, no heating in the room. Service was acceptable. I had roast beef, a quarter of the roast beef I had to leave, as I could not cut it, even with a steak knife…not sure one should need a steak knife for roast beef. Some of it was not hot. My partner had the roast chicken which was ok, however the roast potatoes on both plates were very hard in parts. Sorry, Pheasant Inn, but next year when we come to Keswick we’ll be trying elsewhere. Didn’t bother to complain as my partner did last year about the beef and obviously nothing has changed.

the pheasant inn is the one place we always eat at when we visit Keswick. depending on which table you are at it can be a little cramped as it is on the the small side but it just adds to the atmosphere. the food is absolutely amazing, I have never been disappointed

Exactly what a pub meal out should be like. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and brilliant value for money. Fantastic gem of a pub in Keswick…..highly recommend.

We received a very warm welcome this week. The service was excellent, food was delicious and particularly the Beef Pie dish. My wife thought it was the best beef pie she has ever tasted!! We have booked to return again this week. I would highly recommend! Very good value for money!!

Upon entering we were greeted by Chris who very quickly showed us to our table despite the fact we were early. The service through out the night was excellent. The food was very tasty and looked good on the plate too, it was clear the kitchen staff took a pride in the presentation as well as the taste. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Came here for the second time on Saturday evening on an annual visit to Keswick. Food absolutely amazing, Venison Bourguignon was to absolutely die for. Partners the Beef Pie and that looked the same. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Ambience was lovely, music a little eclectic but absolutely no complaints and will be booking for March again as we speak!

We received a warm welcome on arrival. All the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was delicious - we shared a starter followed by one having the venison dish and one the mushroom wellington. There was so much that we did not order a dessert. It was very reasonably priced. We would recommend and will certainly return.

Came here exhausted after a day on Helvellyn. Great food, really enjoyed the lamb Henry. Service really friendly. Had two pints of Pheasant beer, top notch. Wife had scampi and chips - loved it. Music and ambience just right with log fire and general atmosphere.

Came here for our second visit of the week and the food was excellent as always but the personal touch just wasn’t there tonight, they were busy but the old guy was abrupt whenever we tried to get his attention and was more interested in wiping tables than serving us and we got asked to turn off our babies sleep aid in his pram by a younger male but the pub was that noisy anyway you couldn’t hear it,but funnily enough he never asked the owners of the barking dogs to quieten them down,next time we will come in without the sleeping aid and our baby will cry and scream for 10-15 minutes as we try and get him to sleep and I am sure your customers will be happy with that. All I will say is thank god for Fred and your wonderful staff on Tuesday who were excellent and made us realise how easy poor staff can spoil an occasion

Warm atmosphere and fire and welcomed our two well behaved dogs. Staff were attentive. Our meals were 1 lamb, 2 Cumberland sausage- all delicious, I had chicken ham and leek pie - it was thin consisting mainly pastry and a few small bits of meat- poor. Beer range was disappointing.
