Pheasant Inn – KeswickMixed review. We had a Sunday lunch which overall was nice, it tastes good, but you only got one slice of meat, which we thought was very tight given it cost £21! We had to ask for the creamy leeks, as this was not brought out. Nor did we have parsnip. We had to ask for this also. We thought it was massively overpriced and to charge £16 for a kids Sunday lunch is robbery! The service was hit and miss. Took them 45 minutes from arrival to take our order… also tight measures with hot water for a cup of tea. No teapot. Hot water and tea bag straight into a cup. Although by the time you take the teabag out you’re left with half a cup of tea. Did ask for more hot water which they did provide. Like I said food did taste nice, but not for the price.

I’ve been coming to the Lake District on holiday for years and never fail come and visit to have something to eat or drink. If anyone asks where to go in the lakes I always tell them a must try is the food at the pheasant inn. Homely and traditional British food, cooked fantastically. Just what you want after a day walking on the fells. Staff are always so warm and accommodating, and walking distance if you’re staying in Keswick. Looking forward to booking my table for my next trip!

If perfectly honest the whole experience was not as good as previous years, just something missing. I suggest you start with your front of house engagement.
