Excellent food, excellent service, always recommend,one of the best in Keswick.

My wife had the pheasant & I had the shoulder of lamb,what an excellent meal,we could not fault it. Only problem was we had no room for a dessert! Lovely atmosphere & very busy. Staff were so attentive & friendly. Enjoyed it so much we have booked again for later in the week.

We never visit the Lake District without booking a meal at the Pheasant Inn. The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. The ambiance is excellent, really old world charm. We have had various choices from the venue on past visits and never been disappointed, this time it was steak for me and gammon for my wife. The food is delicious and plentiful, we don't usually have a starter because we can't resist the great desserts. All in all well worth a visit if you are in that area.

Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience. We got seated straight away and got drinks and the starter quickly. However I think we got forgotten as the mains came out an hour and 20 mins from when we arrived. The food was luke warm, but we were so hungry by then we just ate it. No one came to ask if the food was ok once it finally came, way after everyone else in the vicinity got theirs. One table also left, had a new sitting who ate and also left before we got ours! No one came to ask if we wanted more drinks either which we had finished about an hour before the mains arrived. I only chased once but we hate making a fuss. I did say we weren't too happy when I went to pay and would have felt better of we had been offered some money off but no offer as made. It was my husband's 40th treat birthday meal, the only one we had all weekend, all the way from the Midlands so doubly disappointed. Ended up buying puddings from a garage as we were too annoyed to stay. Everyone else around us seemed to be enjoying themselves and the pub itself is lovely so I guess we were just unlucky this time

My husband and I visited for lunch on a rainy Monday. I'm glad I booked as it was a very busy lunch service. The server was on her own until 14:00 and she was amazing! She served all the tables, ran the bar and all with a smile! We both ordered the steak pie, mine with mash, my husband had chips. The food was delicious! Buttery shortcrust pastry with chunky, tender beef. There was a great atmosphere, everyone was relaxed, enjoying their food and a beer. If you like good, home cooked 'pub food' with great service, this is the place for you! Definitely worth a visit when in Keswick!

Excellent food and service as always when we visit Keswick.

We visit keswick several times a year and regularly eat in the pheasant. Atmosphere, beer and food always first class. Book in advance because you will be lucky if you just turn up. Portions are very generous.

Food was excellent, great portions, service was friendly and kept coming to us on regular basis, only thing we can say was time limit if we weren’t rushed we would of stayed longer but would go back and will recomend thank you all for a good night

Booked two nights with two mates here when staying opposite in a holiday home. What a right choice that was . Fabulous service, a warm welcome and food and drink of a high quality. The fact this place is pretty full on week nights in November says everything you need to know. I recommend you pre-book as doubt you would get in otherwise. Thanks to all the staff last Tuesday & Wednesday evening, great team, and we will be back. Thank you

The food, the staff and the ambience were all absolutely spot on. If you are in the area I would highly recommend a visit

The service was excellent from the minute we entered the pub. The guys were super attentive and very friendly. My wife had the Beef Pie which she said was excellent. I had the Fish Pie, which was packed with Salmon, Smoked Fish and Mussels. It also had lots of mash and topped with melted cheese. The only negative for me, was it was a little dry and could have done with having more sauce within the pie.

Excellent meal, good portions and good value for money. Previously wasn't keen on the real ales offered, but this time the selection was great and included old peculiar. Will definitely go back again.
