Very pleasant, helpful staff. Service was very good despite the Pheasant being very busy. Essential to book at this time of year! Good variety on the menu. We had the scampi and Cumberland Sausage respectively and both meals were beautifully presented and very tasty. Good value for money. Would recommend.

Service was amazing the two gents were very welcoming and couldn't have provided better service. If you want the quintessential pub experience in the lakes this is it!

We have been visiting the Lakes for many years and The Pheasant has always been our go to place for good quality food at a fair price....that is until our last few visits....the staff are friendly and provide a good service but the quality of the food was really disappointing....at £20 for a main course there was very little meat ( most notably the pies and curry) so unfortunately we will neither be rushing back nor recommending.

After a long day around the Derwent Water the Pheasant Inn was the perfect location for the evening: wonderful food, a heartful and attentive service (@pheasant team: you all make a real great job!!!!), and the atmosphere let feel you immediately at home.

We had a fantastic meal here. It’s a great local pub with great food and great staff. It was very puzzling to find that mashed potatoes had a surcharge!!!

Visit 8th August 2026 The best home cooked food in Keswick. Service very good. Staff knowledgeable about food. Good menu with a good range of gluten free choices, desserts aren’t marked well as gf on main menu but the pub menu is clearly marked. The crumble was delicious and my son who is also coeliac loved his cheesecake.

I was very disappointed with my visit on the 16th of August. The beef was tough I didn't get the sides that were stated on the menu. I was with two friends and only got one dish of what should have been cauliflower cheese but ended up being broccoli and cauliflower cheese for the three of us. I have been coming to the pheasant since I started coming to Keswick but was let down on this visit and left very disappointed.

Well yet another lovely meal on Sunday 14/08/26. We both decided on the soup of the which was potato & Leek, My partner had the Gammon with all the Sunday extras, I plumped for the fish pie which all was amazing, hot and very tasty. Service was quick and knowledgeable. Great value for money especially with the portion size. You have got to love dogs as they there, under tables to the sides and all well behaved. Atmosphere was good , chatted to people next to us , very busy pub . Really enjoyed our Sunday visit.

This was our third visit and again thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the Lamb Valentine was delicious and my husbands fish pie was very good, prompt service from friendly staff, we’ll definitely be back hopefully soon.

Unfortunately my wife and I were disappointed with our meals. We had a birthday voucher purchased by a family member who had dined with you and was really impressed. I have to say that I have never felt the need to complain about a meal ever in my my life, but the quality of my meal was poor and the steak was undercooked. I should have complained. We didnt think it was worth the long walk from town. Sorry

Three of us called in for dinner before going to the theatre. Service was prompt and very friendly. We all enjoyed our food. Nice vegetables with the mains and the crumble was lovely. Was very busy but a nice atmosphere.
