Absolutely fabulous meal

Warm welcome. Cozy,friendly atmosphere. Food amazing. Great choices. Reasonably priced. We had cumberland sausage & meatfree wellington! Which was so tasty. Good portions too. No room for pudding, but they looked yummy. Maybe next time? We have rebooked already! Thankyou

Food was delicious and very generous portions. The best sticky toffee pudding we’ve ever had! Great atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Our only complaint is that the chairs are a little big for the tables. My husband and I struggled to get our legs under which meant we were a bit uncomfortable during our meal. The pub was very busy so didn’t see another table to move to.

We booked a meal for Mikes birthday. Very friendly staff made us very welcome. Mike had chips eggs & ham. I had the fish pie. We had initially planned on ordering starters however, the main meals are a big portion! Therefore we ordered from the main menu. Very good value with plenty of choices. We really enjoyed our visit & planning to visit again soon. Good selection for allergies including GF.

Authentic pub food in a very relaxing pub. We were a table of four for Ne w Years Eve and the evening was delightful. Great food, fairly priced. Thank You

Second visit & didn't disappoint.Good value for money as big platefuls. My husband had the lamb which was melt in the mouth & I went old school with scampi which was delicious,batter was very light & chips were amazing.Cosy pub with chilled atmosphere,staff lovely so will be back on our next visit.

Excellent food .Excellent Service .Cosy , warm environment. Venison , steak pie and Fish pie were all wonderful. One of our favourite places to eat in Keswick.Staff are always friendly helpful and efficient too .

Amazing for our second visit will definitely be back

We booked for Sunday lunch between Christmas and New Year. We were welcomed on arrival by a very friendly man who checked our details and seated us. The place was very busy but service was good. We all had the roast dinner which was excellent, everything was home made including the most amazing Yorkshire pudding and delicious gravy. Good variety of vegetables and two types of potato (mashed and roast) plus beautifully cooked meat.

Second time we’ve been for Sunday lunch and again was not disappointed Food and service was excellent we will definitely be coming again Staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome and at home

Having been before we were expecting better. However the Halibut was very disappointing. Mine was slightly overcooked but my wife's was raw and smelled of chlorine. Her meal was replaced but the whole atmosphere had gone because we wanted to dine together and this was now not possible. Halibut was perhaps a bridge too far for a country pub - and perhaps you should stick to regular pub menus. We will return but have learned our lesson.
