Traditional pub with great food and great service. Will definitely be back next time we are in Keswick.

Traditional homely pub which has long served wholesome pub favourites. There aren’t enough of these around now! Portions are generous and all meals home cooked, not overly fancy just good quality tasty food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and dogs are very welcome.

We love to eat here when we visit Keswick. It’s a cosy pub with very friendly and accommodating staff. The menu is much more interesting than most pubs and the food is a reasonable price. We visited on a Sunday: I had Lamb Henry and it was delicious but the Sunday roast also looked amazing and a neighbouring customer said she had thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back.

Very pleasant pub and very busy and though booked in at 5.30 didn't get our meal til 6 35....food very good but mine was not hot enough but did not mention at time as was too hungry to wait

Visited Sunday 5th Oct 2025, for lunch. Busy. Food superbly cooked, portions were generous.

The pheasant inn is a long established pub in Keswick with a good reputation, very busy at times, but a plea to the serving staff please give people a chance to sit down and enjoy a drink before being harassed for your order. It would also be beneficial if you comment on the meal or the price that staff accept your comments and don’t come up with counter comments to suggest that you were wrong in your views.

Wow, not only was everything first class and tasty, when leaving we struggled to get a taxi and the weather was garbage , the manager offered us a lift back to campsite, that’s what I call going that extra mile!!!

We've never been before. We booked prior to our holiday and we were not disappointed. The food was outstanding, the service was good. Even on a busy night the staff still had time to check if everything was OK with our meal. They even had a doggy menu.

Great pub! Fantastic food, excellent service and a cosy traditional atmosphere. To be recommended.

Food very average, probably wouldn't bother eating here again.

I booked a table for my parents and I for 1215. Our order was taken quite quickly, however our food didnt arrive until nearly 13.15! This was not as good service as the meal that we had when we visited here in April as walk ins we were accommodated and the food arrived very quickly. There were also other people around us that had a similar wait for the food after ordering. The roast potatoes were well done and hard to cut and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt

Food excellent, service mostly great but sometimes a bit slowing you like tasty well presented and original food you will enjoy your meal here. But don't go if your pressed for time

We normally visit at lunchtimes for the beef pie - gorgeous! but my wife's always wanted to visit in the evening and try the venison bourguingon. The food, as usual, more than met our expectations, and the service was as friendly and efficient as it is at lunchtime. Must be the best pub in Keswick!

Was away in the Lake District for a friend’s birthday and knew we needed an evening in a gorgeous, cosy pub. The Pheasant Inn is intimate and homely, the food was delicious and had no faults. Service across the whole team was extremely polite and enjoyable, engaging in friendly chat along with being extremely helpful. They took my friend’s peanut allergy very seriously and ensured the correct measures were taken. No complaints :)

Had a excellent meal as usual you cannot beat the pheasant for the quality of the food and the brilliant staff Had the lamb Henry it was massive and the meat felt of the bone
