If what you are looking for is a great traditional pub where the beers are really well kept and does great food then this is the place for you. We throughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. What it isn’t is a modern gastro pub serving the same food as everyone else. Well done

My husband and I had a wonderful meal at the Pheasant last night. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the ambience was perfect for us as our two fox red Labradors were made so welcome and the food was delicious! Just sorry we didn’t have room for pudding!

We enjoyed 2 visits to the Pheasant during the week for our evening meal. The food was delicious on both occasions and well presented. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We will definitely make a return visit when we're back in Keswick

It was a treat for my hubbys birthday and it didn’t disappoint, the meal was absolutely amazing good plateful the chips were best we have ever had, will definitely be back

We were really pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. All food was piping hot, tasty and home-cooked. We had the parsnip fritters to start - lovely fusion of tastes. To follow, the beef pie was excellent, fresh veg perfectly cooked and the chips were just how we like them. The service was very efficient and friendly. Space was a little bit tight, but not a major problem, and reflects the historical nature of the pub. Thank you Pheasant Inn - we will definitely come again!

Our first and last nights in Keswick were here and the food here excelled both nights. The main attraction for us was the vegetarian options, that were interesting chef creations and balanced meals, NOT the inevitable burger & chips. Substantial serving of vegetables. Friendly service. It is 'pub grub' I guess and not overpriced gourmet, but is easily one of the best places to eat in Keswick.

We enjoyed our visit to the peasant. We had a very pleasant evening. Food drinks staff were all great. We will definitely come back sometime.

Above average pub fare , with wide range of choices and some quite adventurous options. Hardly 'gastro' in my view. Generous portions with proper potato and vegetable sides. Pastry on pie[ lovely steak filling!] was heavy and soggy, however. Waited quite a while for mains to arrive. Service team pleasant. Average prices for Lakeland, though better value and quality for the money than many outlets locally.

Honestly, I wasn't going to bother leaving a review, but I had an email promoting me for one. This is probably the worst meal we've had in Keswick, accompanied by mostly terrible service. I'll try to keep it brief. Partner ordered Chicken Supreme from the specials menu for £21. Served slimy chicken thighs and bland sauce. Son's kids meal was 2 chicken nuggets and literally 5 chips. He's 8 years old and complained constantly. Had to cook him more food when we got back to our lodge. My 'Lamb Henry' was a mixed bag. The lamb itself was delicious, but the "creamy mash" was a squashed, lumpy new potato without any creaminess whatsoever. It took 1 hour 10 mins from ordering to receiving our food, and we were stuffed into a corner with barely enough room to move. When we complained about the meals after, the waitress said, "I wish you had told us sooner", but at no point did anyone come over to check to see if we were happy with our meals, and the couple of people running about looked completely overwhelmed. After waiting over an hour, you just want to eat, not have them go back and start again. I'm sure you understand that. They did knock us £11 off our bill, which was a nice gesture, but I genuinely feel that even the £60 we paid in the end was very bad value for the quality of the food and service received. We'll definitely not be going again.
