We received a warm welcome on arrival. All the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was delicious - we shared a starter followed by one having the venison dish and one the mushroom wellington. There was so much that we did not order a dessert. It was very reasonably priced. We would recommend and will certainly return.

Came here exhausted after a day on Helvellyn. Great food, really enjoyed the lamb Henry. Service really friendly. Had two pints of Pheasant beer, top notch. Wife had scampi and chips - loved it. Music and ambience just right with log fire and general atmosphere.

Came here for our second visit of the week and the food was excellent as always but the personal touch just wasn’t there tonight, they were busy but the old guy was abrupt whenever we tried to get his attention and was more interested in wiping tables than serving us and we got asked to turn off our babies sleep aid in his pram by a younger male but the pub was that noisy anyway you couldn’t hear it,but funnily enough he never asked the owners of the barking dogs to quieten them down,next time we will come in without the sleeping aid and our baby will cry and scream for 10-15 minutes as we try and get him to sleep and I am sure your customers will be happy with that. All I will say is thank god for Fred and your wonderful staff on Tuesday who were excellent and made us realise how easy poor staff can spoil an occasion

Warm atmosphere and fire and welcomed our two well behaved dogs. Staff were attentive. Our meals were 1 lamb, 2 Cumberland sausage- all delicious, I had chicken ham and leek pie - it was thin consisting mainly pastry and a few small bits of meat- poor. Beer range was disappointing.

We had a lovely meal on Saturday evening. This is a traditional, cosy, country pub. The service was great, the staff were friendly and keen to help even though it was busy. The food was delicious, lots of choice for vegetarians. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful. We had the chefs specials, tuna dish and a chicken wrapped over Cumberland sausage. Superb. Service was 10/10 as always. Completely faultless so thank you for a lovely Saturday evening. We will be back.

Gorgeous food last night- good meat free options- we had mushroom wellington, beetroot bourgingon and pheasant , all excellent. Friendly quick service- will definitely be back- highly recommended x

Visited here with my family including a young baby and all the staff and the service were excellent from start to finish and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful to us, and the food was really top notch as well with a really good range of options. If you haven’t visited here before you need to give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.10/10

Staying in Keswick for a couple of nights , booked here based on reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastic food, fantastic staff , fantastic night . We will be back .

Excellent meal with great service and good value meal, will deffo return, well worth a visit

Atmosphere was good but food disappointing. Starters were nice but coq au vin was chunks of chicken on top of a sauce that was too sweet. Dessert was thrown together and not nice.

We ate here late on Sunday The staff were lovely really attentive but stayed away enough to see if you needed anything but not hung over you The food was amazing I had lamb Henry and mash and my partner had steak pie We had Thai fishcake and baked Camembert for starters We will be back if we’re in the area Thank you for getting it right!

Absolutely delicious roast beef, served pink which is perfect. Lovely mashed potatoes and big selection of vegetables. Portions are very generous! First time I’ve eaten here but been for drinks before in the bar. It gets very, very busy here, I can see why now I’ve eaten there - the food is wonderful. I would recommend booking as I did. The staff are great, even when run off their feet they carry on with a smile. We were in the dog area which is ‘snug’ so the poor chap next to us had my dog (a big boxer) occasionally leaning against him, when he wasn’t lay, spread over the floor - thankfully he wasn’t bothered, they had a dog with them too.

Visited the Pheasant inn for Sunday lunch and had a great meal as always. Would recommend.

Visited while staying in Keswick. Even though it was really busy there was no question that our custom was appreciated and every effort was made to serve us well.The fish pie was excellent and worth the extra time and effort.

What a gem of a pub god knows why we have never been before . Fantastic food and good price . Staff were great and so friendly and lovely atmosphere will definitely be back our next time in Keswick ☺️
