Kirkby Lonsdale is a historic market town located on the border between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales on the River Lune. Famous for it's Devils Bridge - a regular meeting place for motorcyclists and it's Victorian Fair held every September. There are many dining options including pubs, tearooms and hotels.
What a fantastic place this is. Called in for a late lunch on our way up to the lakes and we were bowled over at how good it was. Very much a restaurant rather than a pub, the food is excellent. (Special mention for the 3 cheese soufflé. ) We will return - soon !

Two courses for £21. Add a pudding from the specials to now make it £25 & you just got as pudding for £4. Lovely atmosphere & superb friendly service

Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe often meet up with friends for a meal and enjoy visiting the Lunsdale. We decided that we would try them for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed, the meal wasn’t particularly hot, the vegetables were over done and the roast potatoes were very hard. We decided to have a sweet but the service was very slow and at one point we thought that if our order hadn’t been taken in the next Five minutes we’d not bother. As it was we caught the eye of a waitress and managed to give her our order within the allotted time we had given her. We also surprised that the house red one of our party had ordered was actually 50 p more expensive than the Merlot.
