Great cheese and onion pie. Perfect pastry with a rich and delicious inside. Nicely matched with a crisp salad. Good service in very pleasant surroundings too. The wifi allowed a good business meeting and lunch combo!

I've been quite a few times since my last review and I'm sorry to say that standards seem to be slipping somewhat. This seems to a direct result of their increased popularity as the meals yeaterday weren't up to their usual standards. My granddaughter complained to me about the salad in her hot chicken skewer as the sauce only tasted of vinegar and the salad had not been shredded as is normal. My daughter's hot steak sandwich was on ciabatta, (as it said on the menu but as she'd never had ciabatta she didn't lnow what to expect.) She's now decided that she won't be ordering it again. Finally we come to my all-day breakfast. The "grilled" bacon had been fried and was covered in grease, the sausage wasn't a sausage just a flat meatball with herbs and then fried, also swimming in grease, the mushrooms were tinned and fried, need I go on. The restaurant was very busy that lunchtime and I suspect that this was the cause of most of the problems, so we'll try it at a different time of day.

First visit to la Vespa went with 2 other families to celebrate mothers day. What a treat the food,atmosphere was fantastic! The staff all very attentive and the added bonus of the magician was the icing on the cake.....Amazing! Thank you for a fabulous meal experience.....WE WILL BE BACK:)

We visit Boarder rose most sundays for our sunday lunch,and we cannot fault them,the staff are fantastic great food too and we travel from Oldham,today is mothers day and me and my children are haveing a trip over this afternoon,its a great drive and after lunch its a trip over the road to the garden centre,a great day out ! What more could you ask for !

I visited the Emmott Arms on New years eve and again with friends in February. The main courses are excellent. I have booked for Mothers day too. A very freindly atmosphere and with no signal for your mobile its bliss!The sweet menu could do with revamp.

Just had a very nice meal me and my mother for mothers day , the service and decor was spot on and when the biil came how cheap it was . will defo return again very soon , thank you to everyone at tiggis

This pub has been closed since last May and opened again last month under new management. The kitchens were opened this week and being local we have eaten there a couple of times already. We went for Mother's Day today and the food was fantastic and really reasonably priced. We go out to eat alot and are glad there is at last somewhere decent to eat a little closer to home. I would highly recommend the food here as the chef is brilliant. Warm friendly atmosphere too.

The food is lovely here especially the king prawn dishes! I'm a big fan and the atmosphere is fantastic! The only problem is the fat so called jolly one, I really dont like him!!

Our latest visit was Valentines Day if a restuaurant can get right on such a special occassion then other nights are a doddle, we were not disappointed. Excellent service and very attentive staff, not overpowering but there when you need them. The food was of the highest quality and the atmoshere just perfect already looking forward to our next visit.

Well, we went to Thyme after hearing good things -never again I'm sorry to say. Don't get me wrong, the service was reasonably good but the portions were miniscule for the prices and my venison was totally coated on the underside by the white sinew/skin all along which made it impossible to cut through with even a steak knife, 2 fork sized bites was all I was able to retrieve by scraping at the other surface with a fork to get shreds of meat off!!!. By the end of the evening, the staff were more interested in clearing up and getting home than the 3 remaining clients and it took 25 minutes to even get a dessert menu when there was only 3 tables in -sorry, thanks, but no thanks

Your indian food is amazing but your chicken nuggets and chips truely horrid. To make it family orientated small portions and better quality nuggets. really horrid nuggets.

Regular visitor, food wonderful very reasonably priced. Staff and service excellent lovely friendly and cosy atmosphere.

Dull surroundings and even duller food. I can not believe telegraph awarded 9/10. Wine was a cheap super market plonk could be a lovely restaurant.

We went for a late lunch today-fabulous! A warm welcome,friendly attentive service,superb food. We had scallops gratin/crevettes with lemon mayo, followed by fish pie/lemon sole, accompanied by Wainwrights ale/house Cardonnay. Wood burning fires keeping us cosy looking out at snow capped Pendle Hill, what a treat, definitely recommended.
