Ate here Sunday night, the restaurant was really busy and had a really good atmosphere, I am almost sure that no other restaurant in the area would have been anywhere near as busy on Sunday evening!! The food and service were great…give this place a try and I am sure you wont be disappointed!

Really liked the vibe of this place. We popped in after mountain biking nearby. We were a bit concerned because we were covered in mud but they were very accommodating. We sat outside in the pleasant beer garden and had 2 Chili Con Carnes. Lovely food well presented. We will definitely return at night mudless and possibly stay over in one of their rooms too.

Booked in on a Wednesday, very busy. Excellent service by young staff. Food was of a high standard and much enjoyed by my wife and I. A bit pricey for a "lets go out for tea" but the quality, presentation and atmosphere 10/10.

Booked for 730 but we were late, still managed to fit us in even though it was busy! Food was brilliant, had all sorts of world foods, I had this steak thing in spicy sauce which was amazing and Live music on,his name was cris- Great Singer very soulful as said below! Booked again for my brothers birthday

Went to New Seasons restaurant with very good friends on Saturday 25th July for a Birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for better service, even though we turned up early. We thoroughly enjoyed our starters of a few tapas. Three of our party had the Surf and Turf from the specials and by the mmmmmmmmmm noises they were enjoying their choices. I however drew the short straw, I also had a choice off the specials but my salmon was overcooked and the quenilles of mash were luke warm. A big disappointment for me. Don't think I will be quick to return.

Went last night. We were the only people in . Service appalling - didn't get a cocktail I ordered and the wine with the meal didn;t come until we were half way through. It took two and a half hours from beginning to end. Far too long. Food OK but overpriced. not good value for money. Not enough staff on. Sorry.

Springbank Manor – Darwen

We found this restaurant via Sugarvine and gave it try and we were not disappointed. This is the only Indian restaurant that I've found that actually makes a REAL biryani with no curry sauce and what a great meal it is too. Full of flavour, good portions, good surroundings, good service, what more could you wish for. The best Indian restaurant for miles around. The lime and soda with Cumin in is refreshing and delicious. The mango Lassi is equally delicious. No wonder this place is constantly full, even midweek. Indian perfection!

I have to agree with Chris Blundell who wrote about the Southport/Ormskirk Blue Elephant. He was lucky to only wait 20 minutes for his meal though. Try 1 hour! I didn't want to complain about this place as I have been before (a good while ago though) and it was great, but it seems to have changed staff and it is now awful with its service. Food is very good but you won't want it after such a huge wait. There was no explanation or apology until AFTER we had complained. They decided they'd take the drinks off the bill (1 beer and a few tonic waters) which is an insult. We kept complaining until they took off the price of three meals which we had hardly touched due to not feeling hungry anymore. The manager was then terse and unfriendly when we left. I expect more when I'm paying good money to a restaurant. Sadly disappointing. Warren Buffet was right - It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.

The Elephant – Chorley

An impromptu visit. Glad we did. Exceptionally friendly staff and a good selection of food. Service was prompt and efficient. The food was excellent. The South African specials are an unusual feature worth exploring. Excellent value - well worth the trip out. Will definitely go again.

The Stork Inn – Lancaster

Just looked at their website: Mangiamo has been succesfully run for the past 12 years by Mr Vassilis Vassiliou, a Greek Cypriot who is also a partner in the excellent Latino Lounge Restaurant & wine Bar in Bolton for the past 12 months along with partners Claire Lucas and Halil Orhanli. Very authentic. And: Specialising in the highest quality authentic Italian & Mediterranean cuisine. Everything is mediterranean nothing is Italian - it's pizza and pasta made by Greek people... simple. Not the same in my opinion and you will notice if you know your italian food.

Personally I think this restaurant and its sister restaurant in Bolton (Latino) are imitation Italian and Spanish restaurants owned by Turkish people serenading as Italians because they have dark hair and a tan and have bad english. I have been to authentic Italians - Puccinis in Swinton for example and others in Manchester city and London. Let me warn you THIS IS NOT AN ITALIAN RESTARAUNT and Latino Lounge in Bolton owned by the same people IS NOT SPANISH. In fact having been to both places and noticed their similairites I can tell you that I never evere seen barbecued spare ribs, stuffed green peepers, fish kebabs or greek salad on an Italian menu. It is a con - if you have taste and value authentic Italian cuisine as I do then do not go here. If you like faux Italian pastas and pizzas made in a mediterranean style that frankly tasted bland and horrible then go here. I had a starter of mussels and scallops. The mussels were overcooked till harder than rubber (I have had mussels millions of times and never tasted them so bad) and the scallops were undercooked. The white wine garlic cream sauce required me to put tons of salt in as it did not have any taste at all. The pasta was even worse - tasted really tomatoey and bitter however like the kind you can buy ready made from Asda. The meat was awful and they left out the bacon and swapped it for prawns without telling me. My partners pizza was nothing reminiscent of Italy - stodgy with a mixture of random vegetables (mediterranean again - familiar pattern emerging). This was not stone baked or mozarella cheese. Dessert oh my god we could see the waiter literally pull them out of the freezer and make them on top of the fridge using Asda cream spray in a can as the cream! The custard was birds eye packet custard! The table behind contained pavlova, cheesecake and BF gateaux which were clearly the frozen kind left there to defrost - looked awful and were £4.00 a slice! I ordered creme brulee I could not believe the cream was stiff inside and the top wasn't even hard! Frankly there was nothing good about the restaraunt - everything was below par just like when I went Latino Lounge in Bolton (they are same owners). I feel absolutely ripped off and because of this I want to warn those of you who have tasted and enjoyed good Italian food to avoid thes bogus restaraunts like the plague. Do your research it pays. The con worked on me - the name sounds Italian even the sign contains a map of Italy however I firmly belive something is not quite what it seems. I'm not even a connoisieur of wines but that tasted crap too. Please do not go if you are a tried and tested Italian food lover like me. If you do decide to go I would like if someone could ask if the meat was halal as muslims do not eat non-halal. This would seem to indicate a turkish ownership. The fact that the bacon was removed from my dish also - muslims are forbidden from eating pork; there was nothing else on the menu with pork a distinct lack of in fact. Jus to confirm in both restaraunts I clearly noticed that they don't even speak in Italian to each other it sounded nothing like Italian and one one of the waiters was called Naz - a muslim name; not forgetting that Turks are predominantly muslim. Further they don't look that Italian if you look properly - they have a distinct tan and dark hair that looks more eastern med. The only thing that seems Italian is the names of some of the dishes which is basically pulling the wool over your eyes. On a positive note if you don't mind eating mediterranean food and aren't too bothered about very rich tasting food that is seasoned correctly you will like it. But the price will haunt you as it is not worth a penny I gave them. All in all I would have been remotely satisfied if I'd paid half the bill for the food - based on the phrase you get what you pay for. Personally I will never go again and as you've guessed not reccomend it to anyone. In fact in the future do as I wil:l without asking others first if I decide to go in a random restaruant becuase I'm hungry and think it is genuine because it is full of people just step back look at the menu the waiters and look for the signs.

Though it was a bugger to find we really enjoyed our trip to the Plough. After seeing it on Sugarvine we drove there on saturday night. The place has real rustic charm in a very quiet corner of the fylde coast. We had great big plates of pub grub. Fish and chips and a mince and onion pie with chips. Hearty and unpretentious washed down with good beer. We had a nice seat out front as the sun set afterwards. Unbelievably only spent about £25 in total.!

We called in on speck recently and received a very warm welcome. The food and drinks were excellent and fantastic value for money. There was a hidden gem of an outdoor bar-b-que area at the rear of the pub.Well done and keep up the good work!!

I have been here several times over the last 18 months and I can confidently state we have always had very good food. We don't have very much in the way of good food pubs in my neck of the woods (Crosby, Merseyside) and we regularly travel to the Ribble Valley for a day out and some great food. Our favourite place by far is the Red Pump Inn and we have tried them all in the area (whitewell too crowded with wedding guests, 3 fishes over-rated and the new Eagle in Barrow just ok)! We are a family of 5, eldest 18, youngest 6 and we very much like good food and we always get this at the Red Pump. My husband and I are going to stay overnight and treat ourselves for our anniversary; we can't think of a better place to spend it. The Ribble Valley is beautiful and the red Pump is just perfect; Ribble folk are very lucky. Thanks.

Dined at the weekend, WOW!! A fantastic new menu so innovative, fresh and just amazing. We were told the chef had changed and you could tell, congrats to him! The chick pea burger was yummy, and the whole fresh fish of the day (bream) was the best fish i've had in a long time! I think this new chef is about to put Darwen on the map!!!

I have eaten here more times than I can remember. I just love it because it's in a great location and the atmosphere is great you feel like you are on holiday especially when its sunny and the view is superb on a clear day. plus the prices are so reasonable.

Very, very ordinary. A Gordon Ramsey check--out is needed here. Garlic bread too soft. Pasta overcooked and completely covered with a basic sauce. The soup was over-laden with a vinegar taste. Tony piece of monk fish at a high price. Very naff condiments on the table. Had to ask for parmesan cheese! Waiters very pleasant but untrained. No surprise the restaurant was almost empty on a Friday evening. The management needs a wake-up call.

we have been to truffles twice and both times the food was excellent. this restaurant doesn't seem that well known, i can't think why, as the food and venue is great.
