The Station Hotel – LancasterGood food a good menu will definitely be going again
The Station Hotel – LancasterFantastic Food , Drinks and Service
The Waterwitch – LancasterFor the past 20 years I have visited and dined and never once doubted the service, food and quality. Over the last few 6 months things though seem to have gone down hill a bit; given tables in the crowded, noisy bar not the usual upstairs area; told rather curtly that 'we dont do parmesan' after simply requesting some with the usually great carbonara. Then last night ordered the carbonara again and it was dead weird. Watery and no cream. Said to the bloke that the food wasn't so good and he said 'I'm sorry about that' and wandered off. Really loathe not to keep going back but I am bit wary now.
The Waterwitch – LancasterParty of 4 meeting and using as a half house and had a very enjoyable meal and afternoon, good food good atmosphere and great friendly service. Great location to the M6 motorway and plenty of parking. We will certainly be returning

The Station Hotel – LancasterMost of our mains were OK but Pork Belly was disappointing . The vegetables were not great and the carrots were especially awful: rubbery and tasteless. Desserts were great though!
The Waterwitch – LancasterThree of us went for a meal on Thurs 22 March, and found the food (and the beer) at The Station in Caton excellent. A real genuine cheese pie - with proper pastry on the sides and base - along with chips and mixed veg, while my two companions chose and throughly enjoyed the halloumi kebabs. Too full afterwards to even consider puddings. The only change we would have made would have been to go on a different night, as Thursday is quiz night, but that's up to us to get organised earlier in the week. Have already recommended The Station to some colleagues at work, and we will certainly be going back again soon.
The Station Hotel – LancasterGreat food, great value, friendly service. They've got it right!
The Station Hotel – LancasterStaying near Lancaster for a few days so tried out this restaurant. Busy, so clearly very popular with the locals (and their dogs). Staff were happy to seat us in a quiet area. It was a Sunday evening so a limited menu applied, but they specially cooked some vegetarian kebabs for us. Large portions, couldn't manage all the flatbread and chips but everything was delicious and well-cooked. Price pretty reasonable too.
The Station Hotel – LancasterGood food served in a friendly warm pub.Whats not to like
Ship Inn – LancasterWe had a very lovely meal at The Ship inn. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was tasty and very nicely presented. We will definitely be back!
Ship Inn – LancasterHaving enjoyed two previous visits to the Ship for Friday lunch, we had no hesitation in booking to treat our daughter and two young grandchildren. We arrived early, to an empty pub and settled at a nice table. The young barmaid seemed inexperienced in her role and ill informed about the menu, particularly in relation to gluten free dietary needs. We ordered one gluten free and one regular fish and chips, a gluten free burger and chips (with the non gf roll to be served separately for the children to eat) and a child’s pizza for the young ones to share. The burger and roll were side by side on the plate, defeating the object and the burger was over cooked and dry. The chips served with both fish plates were tepid and not at all to the standard of previous visits. With hungry young children we opted to just get on with the food. Sauces were not delivered and we had to repeat the request. On settling the bill, the barmaid enquired if everything was okay with our meals. I tried to explain that our experience was disappointing compared to previous visits but she was ill equipped to receive or respond to my comments. What should have been a treat fell very flat and was most disappointing.
Ship Inn – LancasterFriendly staff, cozy atmosphere and tasty food. One of my favourite spots in town. Highly recommended.
The Waterwitch – LancasterHad an excellent Sunday roast and enjoyed a lovely Mother's Day afternoon here. The service was great and the pub is friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to others.
The Waterwitch – LancasterExcellent meal and service. Menu has traditional pub food and also more unusual dishes.
The Waterwitch – LancasterLovely staff and delicious food with fresh vegetables. The portions are large which is a shame as I don't like to waste food but couldn't manage it all. Maybe some smaller portions would work.
