Service excellent recommend the pornstar cider,staff friendly...main course only my modules marinera I could have just had a bowl of the broth the mussels were cooked in it was that tasty...hubby's celeriac mash cold pork belly tasty but not crispy enough all in all a nice experience would visit again.

We booked a table 2 weeks before our dinner date, on February 14th. I also received a 'reminder' text 24 hours before. We had read the reviews and some seemed to be quite negative so we were somewhat apprehensive about our booking. However, our fears were quickly put aside as we entered the restaurant (a beautifulbuilding). The staff were excellent and the service was very good. It was a little disappointing that the restaurant didn't serve alcohol as the meals was very good and could have been even better with a nice beer and wine. However, that said, the evening was a wonderful event and we can certainly recommend this restraunt. We will definitely be returning, thoroughly recommended.

Looking forward to a little better than pub grub, but is not there yet. Food not as described and underwhelming Lack of veg to choose from only tempura broccoli in cold dish so went cold and greasy quickly Sorry not there yet, dishes need more thought

Beyond disappointed. I dined at the Sultan pre COVID and had a great meal but the standard has definitely slipped. Firstly they don't respond to emails sent via their own website. We emailed a week in advance of our booking to ask if we could take a bottle of wine as we understand almost all Indian restaurants don't serve alcohol but in our experience, most will allow you to take your own. We got no reply so chanced it and asked as soon as we arrived if it was okay. We were made to feel as if we had taken an illegal substance into the premises! Embarrassing encounter with our server and made to take the bottle off the premises which seemed extreme. Absolutely no issue not opening it but to be made to feel very uncomfortable was unnecessary. The food was below average, very VERY oily and greasy, with little to no flavour and very unsettled stomachs the next day. The restaurant decor is tired and in need of a refresh. Such a shame as it used to be a really good place to eat. Would recommend going somewhere else!

Cheddar pudding starter is an absolute marvel of modern pub food and the chips were the best I've had in ages. Absolutely bangin' food, good service and good portion sizes. Highly recommended.

Good food, great atmosphere and first class customer service.

Not as enjoyable as our last meal, which was pre-Covid. Restaurant prices but you have to order at the bar. The service was good. The starter and the main course were good also but the main course was very sub-par. Lamb shank that hadn’t quite been cooked enough, and had been heated up in the microwave , fairly uninteresting gravy, well overcooked vegetables and the mashed potatoes were just cheap and nasty. At £21.99 for the lamb, I would’ve expected better. Rather a shame as we were out for our anniversary: our first date was at the Waterwitch.

This is a perfect pub for a family meal, drinks with friends or even just a quiet coffee during the day. The food is consistently good and excellent value for money. The staff are always friendly and will accommodate most reasonable requests if they can. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. This is a definite gem of a pub.

Average meal, we had a prawn dish that was okay and chicken sultan delight was sweet but no spice as stated in the menu. Service was odd. I think we have 4 different staff, which could sound like they are attentive but actually asking for things twice, drinks, then the same with food order. Then table wasn’t cleared properly, another member of staff came… only 2 of us sat at the table.

What a wonderful welcoming pub serving a wide variety of food and price. Will definitely be back.

Having this pub in my locality is wonderful, the food (steak night) was cooked to perfection. The pub was warm and cosy and the staff were attentive to our needs. An overall great experience and would visit again.
