We booked a table for three and enjoyed our meals. The food was hot and delicious. The service was friendly and courteous. The wine and Prosecco was very nice. The convivial atmosphere of this local pub was great and lots of people eating and enjoying themselves. Dogs are welcome and although we don’t have any dogs now we love to see them in pubs.
The Station Hotel – LancasterDon’t go if you’re in a hurry! We had an hour and a half to spare before a show, told them that when we arrived, and still had to cancel our mains to make it in time! An hour for a few popadoms to arrive :-/ Loads of staff but utter chaos … I reckon the lovely man who used to be in charge would be horrified by what the place has become! Sadly won’t be going back.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterLovely setting let down by very poor service. Our drinks didn't arrive for over half an hour after ordering them. The food took well over an hour and when arrived was very basic. The chicken stack sounded nice but looked very sad, as If it was being rationed to last the weekend. The second drinks order took another 25 minutes. Waitress apologies and said the bar only had one person. Not great for a Saturday night. Might have been a one off bad night but we won't go back.

Reasonable prices for such high quality of food. Gave us a free round on the house for no reason except for great hospitality!

It took about 15 minutes after we were seated to take a drink order & the drinks took a while to arrive after that. The food arrived about 45 minutes after we were seated & it was very good. We have been here multiple times & loved the food each time.

The Station Hotel – LancasterUnfortunately this visit was very disappointing. It took over an hour for the waitress to take our order (and we had to prompt this). The sharing starters arrived. We had to ask for serviettes and plates. We had to use salt and pepper from a different table. Prior to finishing our starters, five of our mains arrived and our starters had not been cleared. We waited a further 10 minutes for the other mains to arrive. It was clear that the food had been stored under warmers as it had dried out. The chicken and cheese salad contained no cheese and was extremely greasy. Two of the meals were acceptable. The service was poor, we believe to be down to the lack of staff. The food was poor due to the lack of staff serving the food in an acceptable timeframe. The waitresses were very pleasant and dealt with our concerns as best they could. Very disappointing experience.

Mains - fish n chips was good, steak sandwich was good, vegetarian selection was good. Meat platter was very poor- pulled pork was in fact pork belly and all others items were ok at best. In fairness the cost of the meal was deducted without hassle. If the food was as good as the staff it would be excellent.
