The Station Hotel – LancasterWe arranged to eat here for my Grandmothers birthday. We were really pleased with the venue as well as the service and food. I have eaten in various venues in Lancaster over the last 6 months and the food here has definitely been the best. This was agreed by everyone in the party. I would definitely recommend the Waterwitch
The Waterwitch – LancasterReally lovely starters and looked forward to main however quite a bit of shell from mussels in the seafood linguine.
The Waterwitch – LancasterStay thursday night, meal was excellent(hanging chicken kebab). Great atmasphere and all staff were excellent, would definitly recommend
The Station Hotel – LancasterExcellent meal at the Water Witch. They accommodated all 8 of us with easy, despite only booking for 6. My meal of gnocchi was delicious. My friends choose a variety of dishes, all were tasty. The restaurant and bar are light and bright, the staff were helpful. Would go again.
The Waterwitch – LancasterThe Sultan never disappoints! I dine here only occasionally but the warmth of reception and the quality of the food is always of a very high standard. The meal was delicious. It was obviously made with great care and attention and beautifully presented. The restaurant was rather empty being a Monday evening but that did not detract in any way. We had a lovely time at The Sultan.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterHad a really nice meal, friendly bar staff and not too expensive lovely surroundings.
The Waterwitch – LancasterThis was our first visit. Lovely atmosphere and great little dining room. The gammon was cooked to perfection. Our only issue was the wings were a little too fatty. Other than that everything was wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive. Thank you.
The Station Hotel – LancasterFantastic food, fantastic atmosphere. I would definitely recommend the hanging chicken kebabs washed down with a pint of peroni. Lovely rural pub suitable for couples, friends and families. Excellent value for money.
The Station Hotel – LancasterTastless
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterI have to say although I enjoyed my roast dinner, we were disappointed that at 16.45 on a Sunday there were no beef or lamb and only pork on offer. Also the attention to details is not the same as it were, fries were not as good as they used to be and the gammon all though nice wasn’t amazing, served with salad and coleslaw that in my opinion is the wrong sides to serve with gammon Staff lovely as ever but definitely gone down a little..
The Station Hotel – LancasterAmazing food , quality is 10/10 we went for Sunday lunch and boy they didn't disappoint, if you're ready for a challenge double up you're Sunday dinner it's huge! I had the black pudding stack to start and was very impressed, would definitely recommend and I shall be returning soon , there was sungs where people where having wine and a natter next to the log fires which looked amazing
The Station Hotel – LancasterFantastic experience from start to finish, the food was piping hot and delicious the atmosphere was lovely and the staff are a credit to the the sultan, couldn't of been more friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterThis is the second time i have visited this restaurant and it’s as good as I remember. Myself and two friends visited - we ordered a chicken madras, a chicken jalfrezi, a chicken tikka masala, two portions of pilau rice, two garlic naans and a portion of sag aloo. Everything was absolutely perfect. It came piping hot and we were in and out within 40 minutes. I have nothing critical to say about this restaurant and I look forward to returning again next year.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterAfter a long gap of many years dining in this establishment I returned on a whim with a guest for a post Christmas lunch-time meal. It was still the delight it always had been - the atmosphere and surroundings are nostalgic and authentic - there's nowhere like it in the area which makes the experience unique. The service was friendly, unhurried, attentive, knowledgeable and un-intrusive. We felt valued. The tariff was reasonable and fair and the food faultless. A warm handshake was received on leaving and I won't hesitate to return and recommend. ***** (Five stars)
Etna Pizza Pasta – LancasterWent on a friend’s recommendation. Food utterly delicious. I had a tandoori chicken kebab. Risky, as I am half Indian and never eat Indian food out. IT WAS AMAZING! The presentation, the garlic drip from the top of the kebab, chicken cooked and tender. Tasty, beautiful and perfect portion size. Hubby had Cheese & Onion pie. It was like a traditional one, again very well presented and unbelievably tasty. Service attentive and cheerful. We’ll def be back!
The Station Hotel – LancasterLovey meal in the lodge. It was just before they closed for a refurb so they had a limited menu but everything we had was beautifully and freshly cooked. Highly recommend.
The Lodge – LancasterMy visit to the Sultan in Lancaster was New Years Eve. Me and my partner usually stay in but decided to book a night away and an Indian meal for 8pm. When we arrived the lady on the front of house informed us there had been an error with the booking system and that she didn’t know who was arriving! We got seated at a table and ordered poppadoms and chutneys which came promptly. We then put in our full order for the special set menu for 2. One of the waiters came over after around 20 minutes and asked if we were ready for our starter, to which we said yes. Another long period of time passed and he came over again and asked if we were ready, so we said yes again. There was a big table in there so we understood they were busy. The starters came out after a while. The food was undeniably delicious. Once our starters were cleared, the same waiter asked if we were ready for our main courses, to which we said yes. There was a very long wait on food and it was obvious in the restaurant that they were struggling with service. We were understanding, although no one came over to inform us, which would have been appreciated. When the 2 tables next to us which arrived later than us were served and we had been waiting over 30 minutes after being asked if we were ready for our main courses we started feeling slightly infuriated. We then asked the waiter if our mains were on their way and he said “they should be”. Our main courses got brought out all separately, starting with curries, then the rice and potatoes, then the naan bread. Ideally, you want your main course to arrive altogether. Once again the food was outstanding, but the service really let our experience down! We asked for water to the table and no one came with any until we asked again. When we asked for the bill we waited a fair amount of time to see the lady on front of house occupied so when we got up to go and pay and she apologised for forgetting to come over. I’d rate the food 10/10 but the service and waiting times were not ideal. We arrived at 19:45 and left at 22:10 which seemed like a long period of time with no heads up on waiting times. I understand NYE is a busy night and can totally appreciate it but communication with customers would have been highly appreciated. Although the food was outstanding I am unsure if I would return as the service let our experience down. If you are happy to wait, the food is well worth it!
