Absolutely perfect meal at the copper cow this evening. I chose the iron steak with peppercorn sauce with surf and turf, which was so beautiful. My husband had the big daddy burger, which he said was the best burger he’d ever had. We sat in the bar area with our dogs which is genuinely dog friendly, and they have a water and treat station too. Service was impeccable and the wine was really lovely too. Thank you!

What a great place. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly & welcoming. My only little niggle was there were four of us sharing lots of different dishes & it was a little disappointing when some of the dishes only had 3 pieces. But, great place & would definitely come again.

This was our second visit to Brooks in Ilkley and it was every bit as good as the first! Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and delightful staff.

Sadly my experience wasn’t what I expected. We arrived and were the only ones in the restaurant but were seated next to the door on a cold day. I felt rushed to place my order. I was looking forward to a highly recommend pizza but five minutes after ordering I was told that pizzas were off the menu as the pizza oven takes too long to heat up. Disappointed as we had booked our table so they were expecting us. The menu prices in the restaurant are higher than the menu prices on this site. I emailed the restaurant with my concerns rather than post on here but they ignored my email hence me now doing the review.

Great food and service, just what we needed after a long walk

Reserved a table for myself and a friend to dine a couple of days ago. On arrival we were shown to our reserved table by the fire and although he pub was very quiet when we arrived it was getting busier about half an hour later. The menu and specials board were slightly limited but I suspect this reflects the time of year (early January) but there were still numberous dishes that took our fancy. We both ordered steak and ale pie with fresh veg and chips. The portions were good and when it arrived it was nice and hot (not too hot!) and very tasty. Veg was cooked just right and the delicious chips were home made and not frozen. There is a good selection of draught beer. I ordered a pint of Landord and it was peerfect. The hosts were very polite and friendly. We will definately call again. The only downside is that the Maypole is 19 miles from where I live!

Stayed at the Maypole for a couple of days. Had a pleasant relaxing stay. Staff friendly and welcoming. Had Dinner on 2 nights and Breakfast on 2 mornings. The food was served hot as needed and well presented. Portion sizes especially the evening menu were very generous. The Steak & Ale and Steak &Kidney pies were clearly homemade and came with ample servings of fresh veg and a choice of potatoes. For Breakfast we were offered choice of Fruit Juices, several cereal options and a varied choice of cooked items. These were accompanied by tea/coffee and ample toast. Breakfast each day was sufficient to see us through until Dinner. Our first time in the area but we will definitely return and hopefully stay at the Maypole.

Highly recommend I absolutely love going here with anyone who will join me! The staff are absolute angels and super charismatic and kind.

Lunch meet up with friend. Lovely staff. Gave us plenty of chat time before taking our order. Food very good and reasonable priced. Will be back.

Another super evening for our wine club dinner. The choice of food was excellent and every dish was delicious, especially the scallops! The staff were extremely helpful and efficient, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you Fraser and team.

Excellent value for money and really good food Best in the area

Booked table for 6pm on Tuesday evening - place was quiet but food and service were excellent. Enjoyed our meal for two and will be going back. Thanks for enjoyable evening!
