Habibs – BradfordJust opened before Christmas, bring your own wine and beer, no corkage charged, great food, good attentive service and all round great value, can't recommend it more highly and will be back there very soon.
Alachi – HullThis was our first visit to the veggie since the new owners took over,it has to be said we were somewhat reluctant. However we need not of worried,we arrived after a lengthy walk across ilkley moor & were welcomed in by Julie (the new owner) she was friendly & informative. After long look over the menu Julie helped us decide what to have, I choose the Veggie Mezze (large & plentiful) & my husband the Veggie Burger (much enjoyed) Both arrived promptly & were delicious & well presented. Afterwards we were unable to resist the temptation of the Guinness cake (amazing) & coffee. I must say we will certainly be visiting again soon. I feel sure Garry & Julie will do a marvellous job here.Good luck to you both.
The Veggie Cafe – IlkleyWhat a brilliant inn. We came for lunch with our 91 year old mum and her 81 year old sister. It was mum's birthday. The landlady told us about the pensioner two course deal for £4.95 and we all had one. Excellent home made food at an amazing price. Mum even got a free dessert with a candle! The couple who run this inn are so friendly and welcoming and the pub itself is so characterful. Great choice of beers. We cannot fault this place and give it our wholehearted recommendation.
Bankhouse Inn – PudseyFor my birthday in December my husband took me to Prashad as a surprise.... it was absolutely wonderful, food sublime service exceptional....a must
Prashad – BradfordAldo's Pizzeria in Cleckheaton is a little gem. When there you feel like you have been taken out of the UK and popped into a bit of Italy. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to offer the best service possible. I have been going to this restaurant for years and have never had a negative experience. I have special dietary requirements due to allergies and Aldo's manage to make me feel safe and comfortable each time I go. Even the kitchen staff interact with the customers! Its lively with fun waiters/waitresses, great music - the atmosphere is so fresh, it would be hard to beat! I have never heard a bad word said about Aldo's - try it for yourself and you will keep going back! I recommend the Calzone Kiev (absolutely divine) however, there are many scrumptious choices on the menu. Pino (the owner) will greet you like an old friend! Excellent restaurant, it has put Cleckheaton on the map!
Aldo’s Pizzeria – Cleckheatonyou can tell that the food is good fresh produce and value for your money
Plough Inn, The – Wakefieldvery friendly atmosphere, im going to try and book a table for 6 next Saturday evening, and check out the cuisine
Roos Arms – HullGigis is a fine local with friendly service -but the menu seems to have been stuck in a time warp and its like any Italian meal I could have had in 1984. My Saltimbocca was ok but did it really need a cream and mushroom sauce and microwaved cauliflower? A lot of curry houses have reinvented themselves and while they still do old school dishes there are newer modern interpretations. Pudsey would be poorer without Gigis but I think they need to try something different
Gigis – Pudseyabsolutely abysmal food would never darken it,s doors again!!!!
The Crooked Billet – Tadcasterthis is a fantastic restaurant catering for everyone fantastic food fantastic service will be returning again very shortly
The New Wheatsheaf – CastlefordI won't gloss over the facts, I'll just give them to you straight! Booked a table for eight, including a toddler. The receptionist was cold, never greeted us and referred to our child as ''The Kid'' - such as.....Does the kid want a high chair etc. Not a good first impression. The high chair provided was dirty and caked in old food, this had to be wiped down by ourselves before it could be used. My husband asked if the onion soup was clear or thick...The answer from our server was that she didn't know, but it did have onions in it! The soft drinks were priced very high. A small glass of cola was £2.00 having ice a third of the glass! The food for our child was served on a plate so hot we had to put it onto side plates! Where's H&S here! I ordered a steak rare, it came very well done and was stuck to the plate along with the shriveled pea's(Obviously it had been placed under the lights to keep warm) I ordered a salad and got lettuce, half a tomato and two rings of onion..... The steak went back and was replaced with a steak that I couldn't eat as it had arteries running through it....It was supposed to be prime 'Rose Rump'....never the less our dog enjoyed it! The mash potatoes were disgusting, solid, cold and tasting powdery...they were left along with the hard pea's. We were never asked if we had found the service and food good, only the manager asked if my steak (Once it had been replaced) was cooked as I liked it, and it was except I couldn't eat it, if she had asked if it was to my satisfaction, I think booth barrels would have gone off! Seeing I asked for the steak to be put in to a doggy bag, should, I would have thought, prompted someone to ask why I had left it! I asked for a tia maria coffee and got an irish coffee and all the coffee's were cold. There were no condiments on the table, and I had to go and ask for some at the service area, then I saw into the kitchens and for legal reasons I shall ommit this information, save to say that we shall never, ever eat at this restaurant again. In all we spent over £170 on a meal not fit for purpose, it was a complete and utter unforgettable experience, and in our view there are more pleasant experiences to be had in Sheffield. Don't waste your money, nor time, unless, of course the service etc improves. NOT child friendly neither is it suitable for doing business/entertaining clients etc.
Damons – SheffieldFor one reason or another, it has been a long time since we were able to come to Prashad. So it was a great opportunity to dine there this Saturday lunch time. It was a cold but crisp day, but the welcome afforded by young Imran was warm and smiling as usual. We were greeted like long-absent relations and showed to a table for two. After such a long absence, we chose our favourite dishes: bhel supreme, masala dosa and idli sambar. We also asked for papads to start. Well what a treat! Bradford is very lucky in having this unique gem of a restaurant that it can hold up to the rest of the country. It is no surprise that Gordon Ramsay chose Prashad as one of the topmost restaurants in the country. It continues to please.
Prashad – BradfordWent in a party of five and was very impressed. Steaks were cooked perfectly, dauphinoise potatoes were delicious and tempura prawns were light and tasty. Will definitely be back.
Brooklyn Bar and NY Burger Kitchen – Leeds City CentreWe took some visitors (2 Danes and 1 Icelander) last night in order for them to experience a British pub, they were very impressed with the food, the surroundings and atmosphere. Well done Ryther Arms for proving that British food is fresh, well prepared and served. The only problem is they now think that all pubs are like this!
The Rythre Arms Steakhouse – TadcasterWe visited on a Friday evening, the restaurant was busy and had a good atmosphere, The food we had was first rate with courteous and efficient service, and it was worth paying the little bit extra. We will definitely be returning. However, along with other reviewers we were a bit miffed about the 10% (optional) service charge (on top of the now 20% VAT of course), we would prefer to leave or own tip as we see fit. However, it was a really enjoyable meal and night out.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellI had suggested this place to friends as we had never eaten French food in the UK before; very glad I did as it was spectacular. Delicious food - I had the poached egg in red wine followed by duck confit - and a wonderful relaxed ambiance contributed to an excellent dining experience. Will certainly be back.
