Lifeboat Fish and Chips – WithernseaFood is good quality and tasty. Excellent value for money. And a decent pint of Copper Dragon.
Kobe – HorsforthEating here was a delightful experience. Everything we were served was absolutely delicious. Others have remarked on the lack of a licence but, in my view, it's irrelevant, and would possibly detract from the authenticity of the experience. Call at a pub on your way home if it's an issue. If there's anything I would criticize, it's the less-than-positive impression created by the cheap cutlery. The only advice I have to offer is: go there.
Prashad – BradfordFantastic new Bar in what was 'The Other Rooms'. Really spacious venue with table upstairs for dining and lots of comfortable seating downstairs around a central, well stocked bar. Good music and friendly atmosphere, would definitely recommend! and will be going back much more.
Rhubarb – HuddersfieldThe most oversized fish tank in a restaurant you may ever see (and new or less fish every week! (joke)) Lovely comfortable atmosphere and great service; refreshingly unpretentious. I can't comment on how authentic the food may or may not be as i am derived from a "beans on toast" type Caucasian family, but it tastes great and compared to other "higher profile" establishments, the value is ridiculous. If i had one gripe there is (for me) occasionally too much ghee in the curries but i still can't get enough!.
Sweet Centre Restaurant – BradfordCame here in a group of 10 and had been warned that this might create difficulties with getting our food all at the same time. However, I was very impressed - nobody had to wait more than a few minutes extra for their food, and all of it was fresh and hot. Had the cheese potato skins and the enchilada, both of which were delicious. Sadly I was too full to try a dessert but they let one of our party put a slice of chocolate cake in a doggie bag for free! Would definitely go again.
The Cheerful Chilli – OtleyIf you want a break from "chain" food, you cant beat the Bay Horse. You wont get poncy menu's full of far to many describing words, what this pub relies upon is the quality of its food, its beer and its service. Its what used to be called a traditional pub with a mix of bar banter and best end warmth..... people should always ensure they try the specials board, the Black Sheep beer and if they get chance pop in for a quiz night. If you are a visitor to Doncaster or around the Hatfield area if you want some decent food and decent company then come to this pub !! However, all visitors must remember.... no bad language is allowed in this pub....
Bay Horse Inn – DoncasterBest Indian restaurant in Northallerton - have been coming here for years and the high standards in food have never dropped. The owner Javaid is a top man and always looks after us whenever we go.
Lion of Asia – NorthallertonA visiting lecturer from Dundee, Scotland, was staying with us. We came to Prashad for dinner and introduced him to the unique Indian vegetarian cuisine offered there. We had faluda, papads, bhel supreme, pani puris, utthapam, idli sambar, rengan and peas, puris, and kulfi. We described the origin of each dish. Our guest had seen the progress of Prashad in the Gordon Ramsey Restaurant Competition on TV and was delighted that he had an opportunity to dine there. He could not believe that such exquisite dishes could be devised and produced in a small restaurant in Bradford! So thank you Prashad. You have now a firm devotee in Dundee, Scotland!
Prashad – BradfordI am from Dundee. I was here to give lectures to the Theosophical Societies in Bradford and Leeds. Ever since I followed the progress of little Prashad in the Gordon Ramsey’s TV Programme about finding the Best Restaurant in Britain, I had wondered what it would be like to dine in that restaurant. On Saturday evening, my hosts brought me to Prashad for our dinner and I was presented with that opportunity. I was entering into a totally paradisaical world of gourmet gastro delicacies: a delightful array of different tastes, flavours, aromas, shapes and colours. My friends described the different dishes to me. I had a Faluda, a drink which I can only describe as pure ambrosia, a drink of the Gods. We had papadums with four different pickles. Then it was off to Mumbai, to the sea-side, to try Bhel supreme and Pani puri. Next was South India to try delicious Utthapam, an Indian pizza and Idlis, rice dumplings both served with sambar, a lentil creation and coconut chutney. In Gujarat region, we tried rengan (aubergines) and peas with puris. For dessert, I had kulfi, a delicous Indian ice-cream. All in all, it was a divine banquet that transported me all over India. Bradford must be proud to have this wonderful little restaurant. Surely, even the gods would queue up outside Prashad to dine there.
Prashad – BradfordWe took our family here 12/6/2011 and it was terrible. The buffet was empty though we didn't realise until we sat down no food at all was ready at 1pm despite the place opening at 12. We were brought a selection of starters and main courses which were average at best and odd at worst, a roast potato really? Main courses tasted straight out of a jar and the pilau rice was definitely microwaved out of a container. Would never recommend this place to anyone avoid at all costs.
Zolsha – Keighley3 of us visited Chaplins last night (Saturday) at 6.20pm as 'walk-ins'. We had never been there before, but we were immediately accommodated, had a drink and chose from the 2 course roast menu which normally ends at 6.30 (it was 6.40 by then) We were served quickly and efficiently. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The staff were helpful, personable and friendly. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere about it and some novel memorabilia. What a wonderful little find - we will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Keighley area.
Chaplins Bistro – Keighleypate delicious but at £4 75p for a very small portion plus toast too expensive. Staff helpful
The Red Kite – WakefieldI live in North Wales, I'm a frequent visitor to Middleton Tyas. On Friday night I visited tthe Shoulder of Mutton and had plaice and king prawns in garlic butter with a wonderful side salad .This was a fantastic meal I was really surprised how good value for money it was as I recently visited a well known seafood restaurant in LLandudno and found the exorbitant price did not match up to this wonderful meal. I would not be disheartened if I had to pay the same price at the Shoulder of Mutton for the quality, service and ambience I received, but never the less it was nice in these times of recession to receive such value for money. Thank you to everyone at the Shoulder Of Mutton I will be back very soon .
