Ashoka Indian Restaurant – SheffieldMy man took me to The Tempest Arms for Valentines. We stayed in a wonderful suite and enjoyed excellent food and lashings of wine and port. Walked it off the next day on a round trip walk from the pub. I would highly recommend this place for a getaway and top class rustic food!
The Tempest Arms – SkiptonThis has to be the worst restaurant I have visited in a long time. I had Steak in Ale Pie the Crust was Solid and Burnt Black, my wife had a Hot Pork sandwich with chips. The pork was large tough chunks and unedible, the chips had been pre sailted and overdone. When I raised the issue they were uninterested. Not going there again and will not recommend it my friends.
Bankhouse Inn – Pudseyawesome food, great place, friendly staff, best I've ever been too, highly recommended
Madras, The – HullI would thoroughly recommend anyone who lives in the West Yorkshire/ South Yorkshire Area to visit this Italian Restaurant. We eat there every fortnight, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal, or even a standard meal there. The food is top quality and well priced, and the service is always professional, friendly and efficient. I tried the new lunchtime menu there only last week, and was completely impressed. We don't need to go to Sheffield or Leeds when this gem is on our doorstep. 10/10.
Rinaldis – WakefieldI have just read the recommendations of the other reviewers and know why the food is so good. Sajid is a trained chef, not a 'cook' as so many other restaurants employ. He roasts and grinds his own recipe of spices; no packets for him! The staff know all the regular clientele, which often includes local resident Sir Jimmy Saville, and even on very hectic nights pay attention to detail; the draught Kingfisher keeps flowing!. If you think it looks busy from the outside, this restaurant runs deeply back to the windowed kitchen where the cheerful chefs wave to the regulars, and know which ones like a bit extra chillie!
Nawaab Khan – RoundhayDelicious food and great atmosphere! I have been here several times and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Harrogate Brasserie Hotel – HarrogateHaving eaten at the Frenchgate 3 years on the trot now we are never disappointed; always surprised and delighted with the quality and attention to detail regarding everything relating to the whole dining experience. Looking forward to more visits and even more surprises. A big thank you
Frenchgate Restaurant and Hotel – RichmondFirst visit recently to the Leeds branch of Brasserie Blanc. Staff were friendly and service was great. The location is cool and the internal decor and ambience welcoming. Food was excellent with good portion sizes (not too big and not too small)and well prepared. My husband doesn't drink wine, so I usually have to get wine by the glass and the list here was full of good quality wines. I had the white burgundy Meursault and the smell and the taste was divine! I recommend you try it!
Brasserie Blanc – Leeds City CentreI went to Sukhothai for my wife's birthday in February 2008 and I must say it was one of the most enjoyable evenings I have experienced. Décor The restaurant is beautifully decorated with traditional Thai ornaments, pictures and statues. There is a beautiful water feature on the back wall with a small gold fish "pond" at the bottom of it. Everything was spotlessly clean from the bar area to the toilets. Staff From the minute we walked in we were made to feel very welcome and the waiters/waitresses could not do enough for you. Some of our party were running late but unlike some restaurants the staff did not try and rush us through and get us out. We were made to feel very relaxed throughout the evening. No one went for more than a split second with an empty glass and whatever request was thrown at the staff they were more than happy to accommodate. Food What can I say? The food was quite simply amazing! All starters were fully cooked and all came together (I'm not a fan of stop start delivery of meals, they should all be cooked as near to each other as possible and brought out together). Each starter came with its own hand crafted fruit figurine, there were roses, elephants and swans made form a mango or so an "expert" from our party informed us. The main course was sublime, again fully cooked and presented beautifully. The taste, texture and overall quality of the food were top class. A few of us decided there was enough room for a desert and they all went down very nicely with everyone thoroughly enjoying them. Price For a delicious 3 course meal with 2 beers to cost under £20.00 is simply stunning. There is honestly not one word I could say against the restaurant. Overall I would have to say that Sukhothai exceeded all expectations any of us had before hand. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a quality meal in beautiful surroundings. 10/10 from all of us. Thanks
Sukhothai Restaurant – Chapel Allerton – Chapel AllertonWe went to Royal Eastern for Chinese New Year. It was really good. The place was really busy and we all had cocktails and some even had shooters and the night was brilliant. There was a live singer and lots of Chinese themed things to make the night memorable, even for my mother-in-law! Thank you Royal Eastern and Happy Chinese New Year to you all!
Royal Eastern – BradfordWheelchair friendly with Radar Key Disabled Toilet to groundfloor. Bar meals or Restaurant also three newly created residential room on first floor. Very friendly staff. We visit weekly.
The Wharfedale – OtleyI've spent about 4 months in India and fell in love with Gujarati and South Indian food. I spent a few years after my return complaining that Leeds didn’t appear to have anything beyond the standard North Indian/ Kashmiri/ Pakistani range of restaurants which are heavy on the meat, thick sauces and breads and then I found Prashad (which admittedly is in Bradford) . I can’t begin to explain how different the food is from what people usually think of as Indian food. It’s fresh and light and each dish tastes completely different. The special chaat is divine. Diced samosas, chickpeas, potato, crispy noodle things with a yogurt sauce, chilli sauce and tamarind sauce (tamarind is to (South) Indian food what soy is to Chinese). The dahi puri are equally good and the pani puri (a hollow crispy thing that you add potato and chickpeas and tamarind sauce to before popping in your mouth whole) is great fun for novices. They do a masala dosa (rice and dal pancake filled with spiced potato served with a coconut sauce and sambar) which is what led me here in the first place. The filling doesn’t have tomato which is a shame but I think that must be the Gujarati way of making it. The ‘mains’ are all amazing and include Gujarati and Punjabi specialties. The Butter Pau Baji and Paneer Masala are particularly good. All the food is vegetarian (I’m not) and there is no drinks license but it doesn’t matter at all. When you’re eating the food you just don’t notice or think you’re missing out. I took a group of 6 ardent meat eaters and they haven’t stopped talking about the food. Two of them have been back at least twice with friend and family.
Prashad – BradfordI have been to all three restaurants and each time I leave disappointed. Each time I have been back I have kidding myself that there must be something beyond the hype and that I went on a bad night. I've finally realized that the whole chain is distinctly average. I've just come in from a meal and the dips were OK. A hummous was a little under seasoned, but maybe that's a personal thing as I like a lot of garlic. The flavours of the main courses were underwhelming. I had the slow roast lamb which was disconcertingly bland especially considering that it's free range. It tasted as though it had been cooked in water. The beef stew was better but still not great. The baklava wasn't spiced enough - just pastry sugar and nuts. I love cooking and I see eating out as an opportunity to try things I wouldn't make at home. I tend to judge restaurants according to whether I can cook the dishes better. I think it would take very little effort for the home cook to make better food. The Olive Tree is priced alongside the top end restaurants in Leeds and it just doesn’t deliver.
The Olive Tree Greek Restaurant – HeadingleyVisited Bay Horse a few weeks ago through word of mouth. I can honestly say the food was fabulous. Best Sunday Roast I have eaten in this City and we have tried quite a few believe me.
Bay Horse – HullI went to Red Chilli for Chinese New Year, but we had to wait for a table even though it didn't seem that busy. In the end we tried another Chinese restaurant, Mulan Restaurant. It had parking and a table available right away. I will try Red Chilli again, but not at Chinese New Year!
Red Chilli – Leeds City CentreWe eat here on a regular basis, and although the place is very basic and old fashioned (which adds to the experience), the food is excellent, especially the Crispy Fried Duck. Well worth a visit!
Mandarin Chinese Restaurant – HuddersfieldTried La Bella Vita for the first time and it was great. Service was friendly, food delicious and good value and there was no hurry. The waitress even brought us strawberries to go in our Prosecco! Will definitely be making this a regular eating spot.
