3 out of 4 meals were ok. 4th meal was like something from An Iceland freezer. Soggy curly fries no meat on ribs just gristle and when mentioned was practically dismissed. Not great

The Cedars – LeicesterPerfect evening as always. Lovely food and great atmosphere. Thanks for a great evening x
Cheikhos Restaurant – LutterworthPopped in once for a recommended drink. Ian, the owner specifically introduced himself having heard we’d come on a recommendation and sold the Sunday VIP sharing platter so well, we booked for lunch with friends. We weren’t disappointed. I shouldn’t have had a starter though as the roast was plentiful - anyone saying otherwise is plain greedy. The meat quality was so superb we asked from where he sourced it, and the wine list had previously caught our eye anyway - there’s just no excuse for pubs / restaurants to serve rubbish wine, and Ian serves great wine without ridiculous mark-ups. So you get great service with a smile, great tasting, plentiful food which therefore means the price is good value, and if you like finer wines, you’re not robbed! What’s not to love! And to top it all, there’s great indoor and outdoor spaces with safe layouts! Awesome !
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterHad a great meal on Tuesday with the family, arrived and shown to our table by Sophie who was Very friendly and made us feel welcome and looked after us, food was 5 star and cooked to everyone’s liking all proper Covid 19 in place and safe would highly recommend, thanks for a lovely evening
The Man At Arms – Lutterworth5 star.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthOrdered the Middlesbrough Parmo and unfortunately had to send it back as the chicken wasn’t cooked!! Finally received another one after my hubby and son had finished theirs. This one was just cooked through on the inside but quite dark on the outside. Very disappointed as it wasn’t busy at all.. Music base line very low and hurt our ears.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughPopped in for a leisurely drink one Saturday afternoon with my friend not knowing the pub had had such a dramatic transformation so just had to come back to try the menu out .... booked Sunday lunch with my partner last weekend and it was delicious. From the room we were guided to, the table we sat at, the glasses that our drinks were served in to how the food was presented to us (Sunday lunch sharing platter) .... Everything was absolutely fantastic. We have nothing but praise for all the staff that either took our order, brought our drinks or cleared our table - everything was done with a smile and nothing was too much trouble - what a refreshing change that made. Congratulations on ALL your efforts to making a trip out for a 'sup' and some 'grub' a lovely relaxing experience.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterVery good food as always. Service was good too.
The Cedars – LeicesterGreat food served in a beautifully refurbished pub in historic Desford. Local celebrity - Richard Plantagent, rightly honoured in a number of murals and art around the public areas, would no doubt enjoy a feast here. The numerous Gins gave a delightful browsing experience. Next time we'll explore the good looking wine list! Food was fabulous- beautifully cooked tender, sweet steak; fresh, white fish covered with a crisp light batter (as were the onion rings) and a glorious cheesecake. All served with just the right degree of attentiveness and knowledge. We will be back to dive in to the full menu once the Government let this beleaguered sector return to normal. Well done to the Team at the Lancaster Arms and see you soon.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterWe were a party of four found this place after dropping a friends son at university . The staff were helpful and pleasant. The food arrived quickly and was good value for money . Best vegan burger I’ve ever had . The other guest meals were also plentiful and tasty will be returning great atmosphere and quite good outdoor space
The Cedars – LeicesterDisappointed with our visit. As soon as we pulled up me and my partner turned to each other and said she shall we just get a take away and go home. Years a go it use to be a really nice pub, nice to look at and a lovely place to go. Just from the outside we could tell it had gone down hill and it was just your everyday pub now. As we booked a table we went in. Walking to the table my feet were sticking to the floor. We ordered through the app and the food did come quickly, however the drinks did not. The food was ok, I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price of it and the steak fajitas were bland. We didn’t stick around for pudding as we then saw lots of dead flies on the side as well. Wouldn’t recommend.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughThe Old Red Lion. Great service , great food and a great price. The staff are happy and welcome you with a smile, nothing is too much trouble. Really looking forward to a return visit.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughExcellent food, amazing value, highly recommend , see you again soon
The Man At Arms – LutterworthI took my family to the Man at Arms last week and had a wonderful time. Each steak was cooked to perfection and the desserts were unforgettable.
The Man At Arms – LutterworthGreat as usual, timely service, polite staff, unable to fault. Decent honest food.
The Man At Arms – Lutterworth5 star excellent
Cheikhos Restaurant – LeicesterThis has always been our favourite place and we choose here as our first to go to out of Sheilding. I've heard lots from friends that have been to 'restaurants' lately regarding the 50% capacity rule, meaning no one is anywhere near them, a rule for entering & exiting meaning no-one comes near you, waitrers/waitresses having to use napkins to carry your plates so they don't directly touch your plate. So it came to us going out to The Red Lion, none of the things above applied here, people queue at the door to go in, no spacing marked out, we moved to the side, but people followed us. We chose our own table, some tables we quite close together, the staff were friendly, and created a lovely environment however there was no effort in distancing while delivering our food, the plates were being handle directly and there was no need to get so close when placing it down, we did move to the side to create a bit if space due to feeling uncomfortable. I ordered the butterfly chicken which unfortunately was over cooked and quite difficult to cut through with a steak knife, and the mushroom sauce was very bland & luke warm, I didn't want to make a fuss, my husband had scampi and really enjoyed his, but we ate up and left. On our way out, due to the building its the same entrance & exit, however there were so many people queuing together waiting to come in. Every table was in use, which we didn't expect due to the capacity ruling?! We held back for a minute to see what would happen as we were heading for the exit but no one moved, so we reluctantly had to walk straight through the people. It has put us right off eating out again for a while. Friends have said this is really unfortunate as their experience in different restaurants is completely different.
The Old Red Lion – Market HarboroughWe love going to the Ciders as the food is lovely and if you order from the menu then the portions are a good size. The Lunch time menu are good too. My favorite used to be a Pound (1lb) of Lamb Chops but unfortunately they have stopped doing them. I would love it if they get it back on the menu. Food is 10/10 They have re-painted the external of the building and it looks good, they can do with internal decor too.
