Visited for curry night. We tried 3 curries. We didn’t eat any of them. The meat in all three was very unpleasant and none of them resembled their title. The goat curry had no flavour at all, a little heat and the meat was chewy and very unpleasant. Such a shame because that’s what we went for. My friend tried a chicken curry, which was supposed to be on the bone but was so over cooked, it was just shreds of chicken. I had the beef rendang. I make a good beef rendang. This did not resemble one. We did see the lamb curry being served as we were leaving and that actually looked like a curry! So all in all, very disappointing . It was our first visit, so probably won’t visit again.

The waiting time was a while even though we’d booked a table. We thought it was a bit misleading that it said 3 courses for £16.95 when it was for a starter and two mains, which all came out together, so when it got round to eating the main they were getting cold. My friend had to send her cocktail back because it was like drinking pure alcohol. So all in all wouldn’t rush back. The waitresses were lovely though.

Staff were incredibly attentive and kind. Reasonably priced, great tasting food. The restaurant was immaculate.

Excellent service from the team at the kitchen. Myself and my brothers travelled to surprise my mum for her 60th birthday. They were amazing having a table set for us and balloons. This is the second time we have eaten here highly recommended hot food and incredibly helpful staff nothing was a problem even helping us take photos of us.

We came as a party of 10 last night (been a few times before). I can't ever understand why Ellenders isn't busier as once again it was a really lovely meal. The only thing a couple of our party noticed was the chips being a bit warm instead of hot but other than that the servers were lovely and the food was great.

Visited on Sunday 13th August for Sunday lunch . Glad we pre-booked as it was very busy . My wife had roast beef and i had the triple roast . Both were excellent, nice crispy roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding and a lovely selection of fresh veg . Excellent service and very friendly and helpful staff. We also called back later for a drink and again we were greeted with friendliness and politeness.

My husband and I went for lunch on a Sunday, it was busy, plenty of friendly staff to cater for everyone. I had fish and chips my husband had the pork roast, my chips and mushy peas were delicious but the fish (wasn't very big) was overcooked so had dried out and the batter was burnt. My husbands pork roast was very nice and there was plenty on his plate.

Excellent meal at Ellenders , Friday fish deal was value for money and very nice.

Great meal for our 7th anniversary. Service was great, food amazing and plentiful.

surroundings good and waitress service was good food : was only poor to average, sausage and mash - mash was thick and hard work to digest and gravy even thicker.!

- food: better than average but not amazing - needed more flavour in the roast gravy and the vegetables. - dietary req: great for plant-based and gluten free options! - ambience: wasn’t the best due to crying kids and weird rock music - service: lovely lady that served the table but once we had service was hard getting her attention. Ordered a take away coffee from the barista and he was confused by the order. Food was fairly quick which was great.

Birthday visit for 3 people. 2 Hunters Chicken + Scampi. Excellent food served by pleasant staff. Loved the Cold River Cider!

The Kitchen was recommended by a friend , We were disappointed with the meal. I had Hunters Chicken and the chicken was overcooked and very difficult to chew. My wife had Sausages, egg Chips and peas and the peas were like bullets and the sausages tasted as if they had been reheated.
