I was taking my elderly mother shopping and booked here for Sunday lunch. Food was good. My mother I has hearing aids and found the noise from the music too loud as the room echoes. She asked if they could turn the music down which they did for 2 songs. If you want to have Sunday lunch with someone and a catch-up with people you have not seen much of over the past 18 months then go somewhere else. Mum had to take her hearing aids out and continued to eat in isolation as she couldn’t hear me if I talked to her.

After the fiasco of our booking this email is a joke. We arrived for them to have no record of our booking due to it apparently being a new system with a glitch. I have confirmation too. Kitchen was closed and we had to elsewhere. They knew there was a problem, so why hasn't it been sorted?

Sunday lunch again lovely cannot fault the meals and good service from friendly staff.

Friendly accommodating staff with good food at a sensible price

We booked a table for my daughters 7th birthday. The reason we chose this restaurant was because online the menu included a childs afternoon tea which my daughter wanted for her birthday. Upon arriving we ordered and were told they no longer did a childs version but we could order an adults one if we wanted. We had no choice but to order the adults as my daughter had her heart set on afternoon tea. When we were ready to pay i asked if we could get military discount, which could but when the bill was paid they didn't add this so we had to pay full price. Over all what should of been a lovely afternoon for my daughters birthday was not as great as expected.

We came to celebrate our friends 60th birthday and had such a wonderful night, thanks to all the lovely staff. The food was delicious as were the cocktails and the atmosphere was so welcoming. We will be returning and we will all totally recommend The Counting House to all our friends and family. Thanks for such a fantastic evening.

Had a family breakfast for my husbands birthday. Service attentive but we were not rushed. Relaxing chilled atmosphere and the breakfast was lovely. Thanks all.

It was great, I came in after a Friday night out in the town. Staff were attentive and drinks service was relatively fast. We opted for the buffet, the food was great in comparison to other buffets, it was fresh and flavourful. The curries were lovely and the meat was tender- lots of variety to chose from. Staff were friendly and the owner was lovely, he brought out fresh dishes for us to try. I will definitely be back again.

Oh dear. Went for Sunday lunch buffet. Shown to a table and we were. Off to a good start with the correct drinks order. The staff member told us to help ourselves to the buffet , in fact three staff members came and told us to help ourselves, BUT there was no food in any of the dishes, apart from pickles! We were brought out some poppadoms and pickles, then about 50 more poppadoms appeared, but still no food. After nearly 35 minutes the food started to trickle out. What came out was microwaved, I could see into the kitchen from where I was sitting. The food was cold on the inside , tepid outside and not very good. When more curries arrived they were only ok and not very good. After an hour not all the dishes were out. Not good value at £13.99. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, or what the dishes actually we're. One said the chicken jalfrezei was lamb. All a bit of a let down. I know this has only just opened, but that should have meant everything was perfect, but has a long, long way to go before it comes up to scratch. Please turn the music down, it was deafening, far too loud to have a conversation or think.

Had a meal at barn 02 Stamford fri 20 11 2015. Would not recommend as we had 3 meals, duck was over-cooked, seabass was cold, pasta was OK. Would not recommend, staff not bothered that we complained didn't offer anything like free dessert or coffee would not go back.
