What a shame, the Panoramic has the potential to be a fabulous dining experience however........ A group of four of us dined at lunchtime on the 21st March for a Mothers day treat. What we hadn't forecasted was the fog making it impossible to see anything from the large windows all round the restaurant, although it was possible to imagine what a wonderful vista would have been savoured on a clear day! The staff were reserved , possibly as surprised as most of the diners at the inclement conditions, who knows? Wine list was comprehensive with prices and taste to suit everyone. The starter was a fish terrine of scallops, cod and salmon, this watery grave was tepid and raw . Well at least we could have had a glass of wine , umm , not quite, the wine being placed out of our reach. The wait wasnt excessively long before a waitress gave the group the 'permission', to have a refill. The main was chicken, carved at the table, well I think it was chicken, the portion not visible to the naked eye, Im sure I saw pink flesh. The portion possibly looked smaller than it actually was due to the discus size of the plates. On the large plate sat what probably constituted three leaves from a baby gem, with a minute portion of delicious mashed potato and balsamic vinegar, I couldn't believe 'that was it' however after a polite pause and the assistance of a magnifying glass I realised I wasn't getting anymore food. Dessert was a blackberry cheescake which was delicious, small but perfectly formed.... We then retired to savour cocktails ,which although pricey were soooo good The Panoramic will not survive on its great views(didnt see them)alone. The bill for four lunches, one bottle of wine , three cocktails came to nearly £150, which was pricey given the quality and amount . We had to return home and order a take away which was hot, plentiful and tasted wonderful. The diners initially maybe like the Liverpool weather caught up in the fog, however when the novelty ,like the fog lifts it will reveal a rather overpriced very mediocre experience. If your trying to lose a few pounds either physically or monetary the Panoramic certainly wont disappoint. The Panoramic have all the right environmental factors that should make this a fabulous experience, at present it is in fact a rather plush observational tower. Panoramic please take off the rose tinted glasses and see further than through your very large windows .

Sat 21st March 2009 Crap over priced bland food with arrogant unfriendly clumsy staff.Small portions, I mean small for a main dish and fish not cooked properly. Uncomfortable chairs........... Wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend despite the great views. There's plenty of better places to eat. Spent £160 , came home and had to order a take-away as we were still hungry.

I had my hen party at Blundell Street on the 14th March and I just wanted to say what an absolute wonderful time we all had! The food is beautifully presented and tastes just as good. The atmosphere is so relaxed, enjoyable and will definitely be going back very soon. What a great night from the staff to the food to the entertainment! Just brilliant Thank you!!!!

Dined in here on a Tuesday night. The best thing about this restaurant is the extensive choice on the menu. The tables are large and circular, wide open space. I know sometimes this works but in here - with the usual Chinese restaurant 200 watt bright lighting - it just feels awful, less intimate than a school canteen. There are plenty of staff but they are curt and miserable. Waited a long while for both starter and main. When my main was served (a really good beef dish) it was on a hot platter. A random waiter appeared without speaking, sizzled up the food in the middle of the table, then simply walked away, leaving me to stand, lean over the huge table and grab the hot platter. Worse than that, he'd allowed the spray from the sizzle to cover a vegetarian dish of my friend. The bill was expensive, as expected of a get-them-in get-them-out Chinese. Only went because Yuet Ben was closed.

I went to this restaurant for my mothers birthday. The food was very tasty and the staff took very good care of us. My mother enjoyed herself and we will definitely be going back.

Had a superb meal last night at the Monro. Well cooked with good flavours and great value for money ( £30 each including wine). Its a noisy venue with lots of atmosphere in an interesting part of town and whilst its not flash inside they are serving very good, simple food.

Wanted something different and after reading recommendations on Sugarvine went there with my husband last night, we had the Mezedes Greek banquet for 2 which was absolutely fabulous, well worth the money and would definitely have again. This is a small place but so inviting, couldn't ask for better service and even little added extras in the ladies toilets all goes along way to making this a special place to revisit!

Having been to Yo Sushi in Birmingham I was excited at the opening in Liverpool, but I was disappointed. The number of dishes on the belt was extremely limited and although you can order dishes, this was slow in coming and half the fun is grabbing stuff off the belt! Coupled with a rude and arrogant supervisor this wasn't the fun experience I'd hoped for. Certainly for Japanese food in Liverpool Etsu is your best bet, good food and service.

We went to the Baltic for the first time last Sunday, I'm a big beer lover so the brew pub thing made my day. We ordered home-made roasted tomato soup and the stuffed portabello mushrooms to start and the welsh lamb and roast rib eye beef for our main. The food was delicious, traditional food done very well. my partner and I were surprised at the amount and quality of the food we ordered and it was only 9.95 for 2 courses. We found the staff very good and friendly and more than wiling to talk about the history of the fabulous building and the brewery.

I've been going to Etsu since it first opened and have ever since. The staff are brilliant and very friendly. I always suggest Etsu at every opportunity and everyone that I've brought with me always enjoys the food. It's definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Liverpool and I'd go everyday if I could!

Ate here June 2008 with my wife before a concert, had the best fish and chips I have eaten, sea bass in Tempura Batter, superb. Recommended to friends and ate there last Sunday, bad mistake tasted and looked like either findus or birds eye, which is fine except it cost me £11.

Can I just thank everyone at Pushka for a fantastic night and great food. Me and my wife had three courses and the food was fantastic so top marks to the chef. I would also like to say how good the waiter Matt was. He sat down and explained all the specials and it was nice to see how much he knew about each dish so thanks Matt. All in all i would tell everyone i know to visit and mark it 10/10 Thanks Pushka

Came here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, very friendly staff, the room was set out nice, clean, the menu so much choice took me almost 10 mins to decide what to have. They had anniversary balloons on our table and when we finished our main meals they played congratulations and came over with ice cream with a candle in, then took our photo and presented it in a anniversary card. We sat by the window looking across the mersey at all the twinkling lights, would be even better if it was when the sun is just going down. I will be going here again .

I've been a Villa Romana regular for over 10 years now - it's definitely my favourite restaurant in Liverpool! The food is always fresh and tasty, and the staff are attentive. Delfino, the typically Italian manager, seems to really care about his customers! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough! Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!

We ate at Cafe Porto twice, once for the tapas and again for the evening menu. The food is fantastic and very authentic. The restaurant is quite cozy, staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The option to bring your own wine is great as you get to take along your own favourites. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be dining there again very soon!
