went to yee rah after late night xmas shoppin. food lovely duck spring rolls to die for. steak for main course fantastic loads of flavour. reasonable prices and lovely views. well worth a try and would recommend

Bootle Arms – BootleHave eaten here twice, the first time the staff were rushed off their feet as it was packed. We waited ages for our food and it was cold, decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and recently returned, this time it was half empty but the food was tasteless. They have a varied menu, but seem to do lots of things badly instead of focusing on a few things and doing them well. Also saw a worrying creamy sauce for pasta being kept at an unsafe temperature on our way out, I'd avoid that one personally unless you're after rapid weight loss!!

Phoenix Palace – West DerbyA positive to start things off. Erm... attentive service. Unfortunately, it was all down hill after that. My girlfriend ordered the Veggie and Camembert burger which was a decent sized offering but lacked a crucial ingredient. The veggie burger. I went for the Aubergine and Goat's Cheese option and the burger itself was a block of goat's cheese covered in bread crumbs that had been deep-fat fried. My stomach didn't know what had hit it. We both felt underwhelmed by the burgers themselves and also the price as they are similar to the meat options. We won't be going back.

San Carlo – Liverpool City CentreWent here for the second time last night. It is excellent. Incidentally, northern Indian and Nepalese food is less vegetarian than the rest of India, and tofu is an abomination.
Saffron – WaterlooWent with my mum on Friday night at 6ish, we both had the 2 course menu for £12. I had the chicken wings which were so lovely that the chicken just fell off the bone, and my mum had the garlic mushrooms on toast which I stole a bit of and it was lovely. We then had the cajun chicken burger as they had ran out of the lamb shank which I really wanted. This was the best burger me and my mum had ever eaten, the burger was a proper chicken breast in cajun seasoning, chunky fries, coleslaw and a lovely chilli dip - we wolfed the lot down, no room for deserts so can't comment there, but saw a table getting some and they looked amazing. I would definitely recommend visiting here!

If they did lamb souvlaki I'm sure it would be nice, and if you like Asda hummous you'll be delighted with the the Greek Taverna. The deep-fried halloumi was quite interesting, as was the mayonnaise dip served with the pitta bread.
