If you want an excellent meal visit PAUL'S PLACE - we did 10 of us and we could not fault either the menu or the service, even the vegetarian amongst us The variety of dishes on the menu was more than enough to satisfy our tastes - starters, main meals, and desserts, Had never been before but will certainly be going back, nothing was too much for either Paul or his staff. Thank you Paul for making our evening

Had an amazing family meal here today. The food is fantastic. I had a brazilian curry with seafood. This was the best curry I have ever eaten and was full of flavours, very different to the usual bland curries. My wife had the sea bass which was equally as good. The kids food was very good too (and also free of charge). We will go back here very soon,

I would like to say what a lovely restaurant. Staff were lovely and chatty. Food was superb never tasted pasta quite like this. The sauce was divine and my partners pizza was the best he has tasted. We will be back soon and looking forward to it already.

The meal was frankly disappointing but that was nothing compared to the service we received. After we complained about the food the chef came out and explained that we should have been given the choice of dressings for our salad (it arrived dry and wilted) and a choice of potatoes (instead of the frozen half cooked fries we received). The burger itself was home made and was good, although it was served on a floured bap rather than a burger bun. All of that coupled with staff who attempted to clear our plates before we had finished, warm flat peroni and cold bitter, a table that you could not move the chair out from because it was too close to the wall and a mildly aggressive manager who refused to speak to us after we complained made for a very poor evening.

This is,by a mile, the best Greek in Liverpool. It is very good value for money. The atmosphere is very authentic and the owners are so welcoming. It is nice to be remembered when you return, which you will.I visit Greece often and othellos makes me feel I am back there. The food is really lovely and served quickly and is always fresh. It is nice to be able to see the chef preparing your meal, which you do in othellos. There is no cheesy plate smashing in othellos so you know your romantic meal will not be spoilt!! Go to othellos and be sure you will have a great evening with fine food and friendly staff. The veggie selection is excellent too!

we unfortunately had a meal there, food badly presented and very overpriced £1.50 for two mushrooms and £5.25 for a glass of wine will never go there again. is it because they have no competition

What a lovely place, comfortable, elegant, friendly helpful staff starting with hands on Ali i the owner, easy parking and what superb food! I have been before but took no 1 son to show him. What a good meal, the menu has the usual items but many many more regional specialities from all over the sub continent ranging from a creamy almondy Capsilla to a fiery king prawn dish that impressed even my curry head palette ! Prices for these wonderful dishes are a little higher but nobodies quibbling about £30 a head for superlative food and a few beers. Well recommended, They do a Sunday buffet for a tenner and Ali told me they now have a 15% loyalty card offer. That cant be bad !!

I visited Bistro Jacques last night for an impromptu meal with my friend whom I'd not seen for awhile. I only booked the table approx an hour before and considering they had their Tues Wine and Dine offer on, i was surprised and pleased that they could fit me in with such short notice. We were seen to immediately with a waitress getting us some water for the table, she brought some bread &butter and left us to peruse the menu. We chose the 2courses plus a bottle of house red each - we both opted for the fresh asparagus to start which was beautiful accompanied by parma ham and a small salad. My friend choose the fillet of beef whilst i had the duck for main. They were served with seasonal vegetables including dauphinois potatoes, which were gorgeous. The house red was certainly a good match to our mains. Since we still had another bottle to consume, we both opted for a dessert - despite initially saying we were too full but after looking at all the desserts on offer - we simply couldn't refuse but it was a tough decision deciding. I settled on chocolate profiteroles and my friend had the chocolate&banana crepe, both plates were empty in under 10mins - a sure sign of a delicious dessert. The waiting on service was excellent, there when you needed them and knowledgeable on the food they were serving. The price was reasonable and i know that i'll definitely return...if only to sample all the desserts on the chalkboard!

If you like Indian food, you cant go far wrong at Bay Of Bengal. Also, you can take your own wine and beer, which makes it a cheap night out.

My wife and I dined here last night, choosing the early bird pre-theatre menu as we had indeed booked to see a show later on. I have to say that this has to be the BEST dining experience I have had in Liverpool in a long, long time. The atmosphere and ambience in the restaurant was excellent, very rustic french, with some neat touches everywhere. Candles on each table to make things feel intimate despite the fact that it was very busy and consequently fairly noisy, but that just added to the atmosphere. The service was prompt, very attentive and very friendly. From the head waiter/owner right down to all of the girls serving at each table nothing was too much trouble and all professionally served. Then of course there was the food. This was supposed to be the cheap set-menu fayre so we weren't expecting much, but boy were we surprised. I started wit the smoked chicken soup which was both unusual and very tasty whilst my wife enjoyed the Pate. For main course I had a huge portion of poached salmon whilst my wife had quite simply one of the best stuffed chicken recipes I've ever tasted. And a massive portion of really nicely cooked mixed veg selection for us to share too. For dessert my wife had a lovely banana and chocolate crepe, whilst I opted for the cheeseboard, even this though was fantastic, with big portions of four very nice cheeses, plenty of crackers, grapes, celery and even a nice pot of homemade chutney. Now to the best bit of all the price. All this food, 3 courses, well cooked and well served, plus two coffees and a bottle of the house champagne came to just under £39, I can't eat that much in a Harvester for that price. I don't know how they can afford to serve this well at this price but I hope it continues as Bistro Franc, and its two sister restaurants in Liverpool are firmly on my must visit list for hopefully a long time to come.
