Absolutely filthy. Toilets must not have been cleaned in about 5 years. Never again.

Ying Wah Restaurant – WooltonI recommend not to book a large party with Alma De Cuba. They will take the booking but I am afraid can't deliver. We were told that the kitchen was to small with our party, and the next party to us were told the same - why take the booking. The meal was utterly dreadful , however we only paid 50% but that was through a lot of negotiating. All in all 30 people will not be returning to eat!
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreBeen several times now, never disappointed, great food, very friendly staff, our friends like it as well. Will definitely dine here again and again. Will recommend it to all our friends.
Othellos – WooltonStay away if you want good service and good food. This establishment has just been refurbished?????? and is now part of the sizzling pub company chain. Out of five visits, four have had appauling standard of food or service. The chain has obviously hired managers who cannot adequately manage the chefs/restaurant, chefs who are not adequately trained and staff who would benefit from customer care training. Come back Ember Inns !!!!
Acorn Hotel – HeswallSpent Friday evening here and had an excellent meal. The food is delicious, tasty and tender meat. Good value wine and attentive service. We'll certainly be returning and I'd recommend this restaurant to others who might want a change from the usual fare...
Elif – AigburthWe visited the newly refurbished New York Cafe Bar and bought drinks and went upstairs to the new dining area after looking at wine menu whilst sat in the waiting area which was empty as was most of the restaurant (only 6 persons dining on two separate tables). We were approached by a person who we perceived to be a manager. Before we could ask to peruse the main menu, he asked in a demanding way whether we were dining. We informed him that we were not at this time. He said: “You are not allowed to bring drinks upstairs!” He then demanded that we go downstairs with our drinks. I asked him whether there were any signs stating that we should not be up in this area. He said: “We don't need a sign!” We were allowed upstairs by passing a door person who seemed quite happy to let us upstairs with our drinks. The manager then demanded that we go downstairs and take our drinks with us. We finished our drinks and left the premises. Not a good reception and we will not be dining here at all. We are aggrieved that we were treated so discourteously and rudely. We did note that one of the couples dining had to request the waitress at least twice to correct her order when delivered to the table. The manager in the meantime pulled up a chair at the other table with 4 people on it and joined their company.
New York Cafe Bar – Mossley HillI recently ate here with 5 other people. 5 of us chose to eat from the offer of 3 courses for £17.95 including a bottle of wine per couple. The staff were great however the food was very disappointing for supposedly one of the best restaurants in Liverpool. Both starters and mains looked great but were very bland. The desserts tasted extremely sour and the flavours didn't compliment each other at all. One of the group ordered the fish and chips which you would think would be easy enough to cook but even that was cooked wrong!
60 Hope Street – Liverpool City CentreMyself and 7 work colleagues have just returned from a wonderful lunch at Delifonseca. Remember to book , or you could be disappointed - it was a Tuesday and people were queueing for tables Candice and her staff were very helpful and provided excellent service. The food was all amazing - but a special mention must go to The Mutton and Spinach Curry and Pecan Pie. A fabulous time was had by all. This is a hidden gem- we will definitely be back to sample more!!!
Delifonseca – Liverpool City CentreI went to Etsu on Saturday with my girlfriend and what a fantastic find this little Japanese restaurant is! The service and staff ,particularly the waitress that served us, were consummate professionals and had a genuine passion for their job and the cuisine that they served. My girlfriend had not tried sushi before and is now a convert, due to the high standards of taste that were delivered. I had the seasonal recommendation of white tuna in a ponzu sauce, which was by far the best fish dish I've ever tasted. We'll be returning to Etsu and recommending this gem to our family and friends.
Etsu – Liverpool City CentreThis is an outstanding place to eat. We were in a party of 14 and opted for the lamb and pate off the menu - it was flawless. Often, set meals can be disappointing, but this was certainly NOT the case here! Every mouthful was utterly divine and everyone was raving about the sheer quality of the food on offer. Staff were amazing - the service was exceptional without being obsequious or obtrusive - water / wine / bread constantly offered. Wow. I have been here a couple of times before and been amazed by it on each occasion btw the vicking veg chef looked as tasty as the food
Jalons – WavertreeI don't know who the chef is, but he is the best. Nearly as good as my own dad!!
New Orchid Garden – West DerbyHave been to Etsu twice, and really enjoyed it.Can highly recommend the red snapper and the steak.Service is friendly and attentive, and the price is really reasonable.A hidden gem!!
Etsu – Liverpool City CentreWe celebrated my birthday at Elif last week. The service was excellent. The staff were on hand but not intrusive, and very patient when we were too busy chatting to remember to look at the menu. We ordered several starters to share among us and each one was simple but delicious. Four of us ordered the Karisik which is a mixed kebab dish. The meat was tender, superbly tasty and the Adana especially was to die for. The wine choice was reasonable and the Sauvignon Blanc went down a treat, as did the desserts and the liquor coffees.....oh and the brandys too... All in all a delightful meal and reasonably priced for such good fare.
Elif – AigburthThis is one of our favourite eating places, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing and is reasonable priced, great for couples or for groups. Guaranteed to have a great night.
La Casa Vieja – St.HelensThis is one of our favourite eating places, the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing and is reasonably priced, great for couples or for groups. Guaranteed to have a great night.
La Casa Vieja – St.HelensThe pub stands all alone on a busy road and I was a little dubious about taking my Mum in for lunch. It was a little rundown inside but only added to its' charm. There was a surprisingly extensive and sophisticated menu. We both plumped for Scaborough cod in beer batter with maris piper chips, homemade mushy peas, samphire and lime tatare sauce. Absolutely fabulous! and very reasonably priced. I look forward to future visits to explore their menu.
The Baltic Fleet – Liverpool City CentreThis is the best curry i have ever had. The good quality of the ingredients was obvious and the fact it was freshly prepared evident. I always recommend Karma and those that have tried it always agree that it is far superior to any other. As a resident of west Kirby, i am made up it is on my doorstep!
Karma – West KirbyArrived for meal, very quiet and wondered why....! Sat down and no table numbers, which is a little confusing, although we were given wooden spoons with numbers on after ordering....?! OK....food...... Went to order - asked for sirloin steak - no sirloin steak, or rump or lamb...! Starters arrived, which were ok. Main courses - fish and chips arrived - ate chips, fish was left as it was incredibly greasy and riddled with bones. Also, half of the veggie option of butternut squash was left as it wasn't the best. All in all, not a very good experience and one I wouldn't like to repeat.
