We came with family and were looked after so well. Relaxed, cosy, and unforgettable seafood. I had a fantastic experience at Matthews Kitchen Seafood & Grill on Whetstone High Road. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. The restaurant is spotless, well-ventilated, and clearly takes cleanliness and hygiene seriously — something that really stood out to me. The staff were warm, professional, and followed all health and safety protocols without making it feel clinical. The tables were well spaced, everything was sparkling clean, and hand sanitiser was available at the entrance and by the restrooms. As for the food — absolutely outstanding. The seafood was incredibly fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of flavour. You can really tell they source quality ingredients and handle them with care. It’s rare to find a restaurant that offers both top-class food and a strong sense of safety and comfort. Matthews Kitchen gets it right on every level. Highly recommend for a relaxed, delicious, and safe meal out in North London.

An outstanding dining experience with excellent food and service, great ambience and the best whiskey sour in north London!

We loved the food, ambience and service. Would love to come back. However, 15% service is quite hefty especially as we like to drink so with service makes the bill quite expensive. Our dessert was forgotten as well, not a problem but again didn’t help with the high service charge. Would still highly recommend the restaurant but maybe negotiate service charge

It has a friendly, family atmosphere. The staff are helpful and efficient. The menu has some great choices and the food is delicious. It's a fantastic restaurant. We love it.

We had the Caribbean Roast and it was amazing 10/10 the mac n cheese was the best I’ve had in a very long time! We was served by a guy called Wayne who was so nice, he really went out his way to make sure we was happy with everything. I had the beef but did try some of my son’s chicken and both was delicious! Only thing I would say is the wait for the food is a little long but was so worth it when it finally came. We will be back to try some of the other foods in the week.

Came for the Caribbean Roast and it was incredible We all got the chicken and it was cooked well not dry! The portions are very generous and we were able to pack a doggy bag to enjoy the next day. Will definitely recommend and be back for the roast and to try Fish Fridays! Thank you for the hospitality it was a lovely Sunday evening! :)

We’ve been coming here for awhile now. The food and service is always consistent in fact, I cannot fault anything. Definitely a hidden gem in suburbia.

We came in for the Caribbean Sunday roast. Partner said it was the best roast beef he's had in a long time! The roast chicken was amazing. I just wish they had smaller portions for smaller eater/ children. My son say he liked the mac n cheese but it didn't need the chicken. So the next time we come we will order without.

BEST ROAST I HAVE EVER HAD IN LONDON. Props to the chefs because the food is incredible. Service wasn't so great - very slow, staff were almost in a constant daze and didn't know what was going on but the cheery chef made up for this.
