Went for dinner here yesterday evening. I had a pasta dish and my partner had steak. Lovely food, polite staff with a great service. Will return again!

Excellent venue for a pre-concert meal! Menu looked limited (2 courses before 6.45pm on concert night) but was actually very extensive. The food was super (best lasagne of the year in my case) and the fish portions were generous. The leek and potato soup was most unusual (made with lentils also?), being very tasty and not in any way boring. Service was good considering how busy they were. It was a full house but was not particularly noisy.

Really enjoyed our meal. We were a party of six and all ordered something different. Great ambience, good service and fantastic food! Good choice of GF options too.

We had a lovely meal before we went to the theatre . Our table was waiting for us the restaurant was very busy but service excellent. We really enjoyed the food it is extremely well run and the staff really care about the service and the food . We are definitely going back

Excellent service in a well decorated and cosy dining room. Food was lovely and portions completely massive. We go every few months - in my opinion it’s the best Italian restaurant around. The seafood risotto is excellent.

We went for a meal here before seeing a show at the palace theatre. We had a 2 course pre theatre menu. The choices were ok. I would definitely recommend booking as it is a very busy restaurant. It was good value and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly.

Came on Christmas Eve had the Christmas menu we all really enjoyed the food we were looked after by the staff excellent night.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve meal at Gio’s. The table we had booked was waiting when we arrived and the staff took drinks orders soon after we’d settled in. The starters came not long after we’d selected them, and all were delicious. The main courses also arrived quickly and were really good - some of the best Italian meals we’ve ever tasted. Throughout our visit the staff were pleasant and polite. All in all a great place to eat.

5 of us, had our Christmas dinner here again, 2 of which are vegan. Last year they nailed it, hence returned. The vegans had a lovely starter (soup & roll) and s lovely dessert, but was sadly let down with the mains. When asked about the veggies, no one seemed to know what the potatoes where cooked in but informed us that that the chef did like to put butter in ALL the veg. The only item without butter was sprouts! We where reassured beforehand that there would be 2 roast potatoes ( goose fat & veg oil), clearly marked and the only thing they wouldn’t be able to eat would be cauliflower cheese. Good job we choose to double check on the day as would have had 2 very poorly family members.

Come here very often and all the staff and food are always excellent. However we came Xmas day it was not greatly organised the starters were over cooked and the bill was completely wrong, they did rectify this but was not worth what was paid

Christmas day meal with the family was superb, it was obvious to see the effort the staff had put in and made the occasion extra special. The food was delicious and plentiful would definitely recommend booking for next Christmas
