A little gem.Superb food.
Refresh Cafe Didsbury – DidsburyWe've been here for 55 mins before our order was taken, we did ask to do it earlier but our response was, "you'll still have to wait". I think for a busy Saturday night, more staff should be employed, or at least give the hoverer behind the bar a few more jobs to do. Ps. My wife is very drunk from lack of food ;)
Went on valentines night for the set 3 course meal, the meal was lovely and could not fault it, it was a busy night but the staff were very pleasant. Will certainly be going back.
Thornberries Bar and Grill – MiddletonYet another over-priced chain serving poor food, good food is hard to find these days. Staff pleasant enough.
Giraffe – Trafford CentreWe attended a party last night 14/02/2014 the food was excellent and the staff extremely friendly would defiantly recommend to anyone, so good we're going back for tea tonight.
Dino’s Bar and Kitchen – MontonLunch was stunning, beautiful place, set menu outstanding value for a celebrity chef restaurant. Although makes up for breakfast at £20 a head. An absolute must for lunch though.
Mr Cooper’s House and Garden – Manchester City CentreGreat company great grub and ale lovely staff.
The Regal Moon – RochdaleWe were very excited to try Manchester House and it very much lived up to our expectations of it. As the flaship foodie restaurant of Living Ventures, and with the big billing it has had with Aiden Byrne at the cooker, much praise has been heaped upon it. It has been made quite clear a Michelin star for manchester was the aim. The food was really first class and deserving of that accolade. We had frogs legs, snails, venison and hare. The venue's ambience and atmosphere were exactly what we wanted. Great design, plenty of space, cool subdued lighting and a huge open plan kitchen. Great to choose to look into the kitchen or the dining room. Very extensive wine list and the prices were good considering the quality within it. Service was good and I would have been more than satisfied if it wasnt for the fact that Manchester House has pretensions for excellence. Questions of providence, about the wine list and how many chefs there were etc, were met with startled looks. Some waiting staff definitely needed training and we were surprised that this wasn't taken as seriously as the food. Do not let this put you off. We spent £166 for 2 with a good bottle of wine 2 courses and a shared dessert. For the experience we had I see that as very good value and we normally pay a lot less than that for a meal out.
Manchester House – SpinningfieldsI am a local resident of Gee Cross and have been drinking in this pub as a regular for the last few years. It used to be a lovely, well run pub with nice clientele. However, over the last six months or so there has been a massive change, with a lot of local residents choosing to avoid this establishment. The landlord is more concerned with profits, than the well being of local residents and customers, maybe he should stick to barbering than running a pub. He lets in a lot of customers who are barred from other local pubs in the village, unconcerned about the trouble they may cause. He also turns a blind eye to the obvious drug dealing/taking in these premises. The last few times I have been in this pub, there has been fights breaking out, with no door staff on to intervene. Only this Friday as one fight erupted at the rear, other fights started to break out, resulting in one person being randomly head butted and knocked out completely. The only person who seemed to do anything about it was the barman, Gregg, who stopped the fight. As a concerned resident of Gee Cross village, I will no longer be drinking in here, and will also be making complaints to licensing authorities.I would like to point out that this in no way is a review of the restaurant, which has always been superb, but this is a review of the bar.
The Grapes – HydeStunning looking restaurant that now offers afternoon tea. The cloister like seating area to the front of the hotel is the perfect place to have it.
Afternoon Tea At Radisson Blu Edwardian – Manchester City CentreOur party enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Steak and Lobster. An equal amount chose each option and all were very satisfied. I had the steamed lobster and had a free top up of chips and salad. Good choice of wines by the glass and a luscious chocolate cheesecake to follow. Particularly impressed with the coffee choice post meal, I think a colombian, Sri Lankan and Indian. All were distinctly different in aroma and taste. Just £17 a head, bargain.
Steak & Lobster Manchester – Manchester City CentreFound this gem by chance and have returned again and again, food is excellent and is always hot and fresh, Staff always friendly and helpful the wines are good and reasonably priced as is the food, booking recommended.
Rozafa – Manchester City CentreAmazing recently built old style pub in the heart of uber contempory Spinningfields. Great outside space and I must say the best Guiness I can remember having. Didnt eat but will next time.
Oast House – SpinningfieldsHad a really good night friendly staff great food great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place, not many like this one left. Thanks to all at the Standard.
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonHad the best food experience with my husband in Georges on Saturday I had the chicken liver pate and fish pie for main, absolutely delicious. Definitely the best restaurant in area #greatfood
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyI visited Georges on the 25th of Jan full of anticipation having been a regular at the Milan for years. The first disappointment was on arrival to find that that our telephone reservation had not been booked. Perhaps an omen for the evening! My wife chose the Chicken liver pate, and I the Torched sardines which were both delicious. my wife then chose theSirloin steak which proved to be the worst steak she has ever had in a restaurant.! We were so disappointed with the whole experience that we did not have a dessert. We were served be a charming waitress who remembered a birthday party I had, with guests , at the Milan in May - an excellent experience I will not be repeating at Georges.
Georges Restaurant – WorsleyWe have become regulars in recent months and introduce friends to the restaurant as we find it perfect every time. Great food, friendly service and convivial atmosphere. Enzo the owner adds nice touches by making the effort to talk to his guests and is genuine and professional in his approach. As a general rule when dining out, when one thing goes wrong, it's easy to find further faults - pleased to say this has not been the case for us as the experience has been perfect every time - thank you and keep it going
Italia Mia – BuryMy friend called this restaurant tonight to book a table and was asked to ring back tomorrow at 12 as they were busy! She said no because she would be at work in a classroom and reluctantly passed over to a female who told her they were fully booked. Sorry you've lost a potential new customer.
