As always, another wonderful evening with a feeling of being in Italy for a few hours thanks to the waiter who served us again and recommended the best of the menu! I have travelled the world but never found such a wonderful and professional man who made me (and my fiends) feel so special! If you read this message and go to San Carlo, ask for Ciro! Best Wishes, Ketty and Friends xxx

I visited the white room yesterday- and I have got to say how pleased i am. This is just what Whitefield needed. The decor is modern and luxurious, the atmosphere is great and the people are very friendly. Overall i would recommend this to anyone living in the surrounding area, great day/night out for a drink or something to eat!!! Well done and thank you for putting Whitefield on the map.

My husband and I went for lunch yesterday - one of numerous visits we've made over many years. As always, it was a real treat. The food was delicious (presentation is second to none) and the service attentive and efficient but not intrusive. Table settings are beautifully arranged with crisp linen and sparkling crockery/glassware. The building itself is very impressive as you ride up the sweeping driveway and doesn't disappoint when you enter the large, imposing building. My only negative comment (and it's only my personal opinion) would be that the atmosphere was more intimate in Nutter's old premises which were further up Edenfield Road but, with quality like this, it was inevitable that Andrew Nutter would have to move to bigger premises to keep up with demand. You're missing a wonderful, gastronomic experience if you don't venture to Nutter's Restaurant.

We have now been to Sanmini 4 times. Twice for the excellent Thali weekend lunch menu. Forget your impression of a "normal Indian" which will most likely be Bangladesh "cuisine". This is South Indian food and is sooo tasty. We have also tasted South Indian cuisine in London's 1* Michelin Quilon Restaurant and can honestly say that the taste and freshness of Mini's cooking is superior.

Just had a really good lunch at The Beacon at Dalton. It is a Pub downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. We have been a few times before and in both parts the food is superb. Before we looked at the menu, we asked if they did beef curry. They had chicken curry on the menu but they immediately said there was no problem at all in changing it so we both had beef curry. Afterwards I had pear poached in Campari garnished with a raspberry juice and clotted cream and my husband had Parkin Cake with Mrs Dowson's ice cream, both were very well presented, as was the curry which came with rice, poppadoms and mango chutney. The price was very reasonable and service was very good. 10/10

Bad and Good! Just returned from dinner on a Wednesday night. Downside - booked a table for 8pm. Arrived at 7.50pm. At 8.50pm, I explained to the waitress that we had been waiting nearly an hour and at 9pm, we were leaving. Frankly, she couldn't care less. Showed us to our table at 8.55pm. Waiter did not smile once. Looked stressed out. Paid the 10% tip that was already on our bill as too polite to say no. Quite expensive for ok to good food. Upside - nice atmosphere in this very busy restaurant. Food arrrives very quickly. It was ok to good but not amazing. My summary is they over book so they are always busy. I told the waitress if there is always an hours wait for a table, I might as well book for 8pm and turn up for 9am. But no, if that happened, my table would be gone. Clearly, loaded in their favour. "Slightly an element of the kings new clothes!" The owners are besotted with celebrities, ie pictures of footballers everywhere. I'm not bitter but I am sure Ronaldo did not wait an hour for his pre booked table!

Having grown up in Prestwich I have spent many years envying the social amenities immediately available to Didsbury-ites on the other side of Manchester. I am delighted to say that we have finally been blessed with a venue that would compete if it were located on Wilmslow Road. Having been recommended The White Room by a friend I turned up on a Thursday night for a quick drink. I was pleasantly surprised by both the decor and the general ambience. The sporadic mix of comfy couches and bar stools, the fluttering of dinners and drinkers throughout the bar, the candle lighting and spacious seating area outside all add to the general charm. Although the wine list could be more extensive the bar is well stocked. I was also impressed with the appeal of The White Room with dinners and drinkers ranging from early 20s to late 50s all of whom appeared in good spirits and comfortable with their surrounds. An eclectic design and mix seemed to suit the bar very well. So impressed was I with the experience that I returned for a Sunday lunch. Nursing a rather heavy hangover I decided to go for the steak, ale and mushroom pie with chunky chip which proved to be absolutely delicious. Excellent comfort food and a generous portion. The menu itself was reasonable and offered a broad range for culinary preferences and a sizable childrens menu. The staff were helpful and curtious. I also noted that the dinners ranged from families to young couples. Overall I have been exceptionally impressed with The White Room and would recommend anyone reading this article, tired of the usual pubs (or pub - The Parkfield) north of Tescos, to give it a try.

went here on Sunday and it was excellent. recommend booking as they were turning people away before 7 who had not made reservations as they were busy. food delicious and good value, childrens menu fine, service friendly and unobtrusive but there when you needed it, worth the trip the young chef has got it spot on and the busy pub showed that. Will be back soon.

My family have been eating Indian food for a good 20 years now and we like to have a good family restaurant to depend upon when all the siblings come home to Lancashire. After reading Internet reviews we decided to try it out and loved it. I've spent a couple of months in Goa and love cooking my own Indian food but there were dishes here I didn't know about - I had chicken tikka naga massalla and learned about naga chillies from Mr Khan. It was a great night - we all shared a bit of each others dishes which were all varied and each one superb. When you drive out to restaurants you expect them to be fairly pricey - this was very good value, starter + main + drinks (and a little education on indian food) for less than £25 per head.

Now this definitely makes a change from all the Indian restaurants in Manchester. My first time at a south Indian restaurant. The food was great. service a little slow, but the food more than makes up for it. will be going back

Hi have been coming to this family run establishment for the last 10 years. The menu has changed a lot over the years but the quality of food and the service has remained the same. This is the only Rusholme joint who offer genuine Indian taste and the staff have been always very good and look after you well.

I visited the White Room recently. The surroundings were very relaxing & the staff were extremely helpful. The choice on the menu was excellent and there is also a daily special which I tried. I could not fault it at all & will definitely come here again.

Firstly, i would like to say that the staff & management, at La Roma were fantastic, and gave a very personalised service. Secondly, the food, was amazing. With the preconceptions that it would be just like other Italian restaurant, the pasta was gorgeous, and the "La Roma" Pizza, which includes EVERYTHING, was a good choice, and executed in style. We will be going back time after time, and look forward to booking the Xmas party. Nice touch with the Ducati in the bar too!!

I have read the reviews complimenting this restaurant on its customer service. I have to say I couldn't disagree more. Their refusal to even consider adapting their menu to cater for someone with a gluten allergy I found totally unforgivable. If they cannot adapt their dishes are they serving pre prepared meals??
