Choy Hing Village – SaleWent to celebrate father in laws birthday. Had 4 children with me ranging from 1yr to 11yr.We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely visit again
Frankie and Bennys – Ashton Under LyneI haven't been to many Chinese restaurants but out of the ones that I have been to, this is the best one. Everything about it was superb. The quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff and the restaurant environment were first rate. I could not afford to go regularly but I will go when I can. Fantastic!
Wings – Manchester City CentreRecently went for lunch. I had the Peruvian Cerviches for starters which was excellent and the Churrasco De Lomo for main which though very good I found slightly disappointing possibly because my expectations were so high. Very good service, an excellent (South American) wine list and nice ambience.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreHad a meal on the Thursday which was really good and then we went on the Saturday for drinks - bar service excellent and lots of cocktail choices! great all round
Napa – BramhallWow! Much needed new addition to this area. Doing what Italian restaurants do best, simple dishes, great ambience, great prices, great wine, and all in stylish surroundings. Somewhat 'Piccolinoesque', but definitely right to keep it as a Restaurant first and foremost instead of another Canal Street bar food joint. Really impressed, defo worth a try.
Villaggio – Manchester City CentreWhat can i say other than this is a little jem of a place! Outstanding food, great wine & fabulous service - especially the waiter - he was attentive & hilarious! All should attend at least once a month!
Jem and I Bar and Grill – DidsburyHaving been on a mission to find a good steak house (only ever found them in America), I booked a table based on the reviews I had read. The menu is quite extensive and we decided to order the beef fillet with fat chips and a side dish of green beans and tomatoes. We were not disappointed. The steak was so tender you could have used a spoon to cut it, and the meat melted in your mouth. The meal was absolutely superb and so was the red wine our waiter recommended. Shame we did not have room left for desserts - oh well there is always the next time!! "We will be back"!!
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreAfter several further visits to this great curry restaurant, I have to continue to give it the thumbs up. WITHOUT DOUBT the best in Tameside, v busy on each time we have visited (w/end) but always got in because it? quite a big place. Highly recommended
Bower Fold Spice – StalybridgeA gem in the heart of Gatley! Great place for coffee and a quick sandwich during the day, also an impressive range of breads which they make on the premises, coupled with a good deli counter and a really fabtastic selection of wines which are a cut above the usual off-licence/supermarket fare. All this with Eduardo's great service and friendly smile.
Armenique – StockportRecommended by a colleague, we have been here twice within 6 weeks and is one of our most favourite places to eat in Manchester. The menu is excellent and caters for all tastes; I especially liked the steamed mussels in a bag whilst my wife loved the cod with chunky chips - not forgetting the home made custard tart which was amazing! Fresh food, brilliant friendly service, relaxed atmosphere - we hope it doesn? get too big for its own good!
The Oxnoble – Manchester City CentreHaving read favourable reviews on this site we decided to give it a go and were not disappointed. The outside has changed from many web pictures and looks more inviting now, the inside was very busy with happy diners. We sat upstairs and found the waiters extremely efficient and friendly, the food arrived quickly and was gorgeous. A korma for our 12 year old who is not very adventurous and a samber which tasted gorgeous, along with a mirhani. The peshwari naan was the best I'd tasted. Watch out for the sizzlers, how the waiters keep their eyebrows is a miracle! Will definitely go again and would strongly recommend. Fantastic value for money. Enjoy!!!!
Spicy Hut – RusholmeMost certainly one of the best steaks I have had in a long time - extremely fresh and cooked exactly to my liking. The wine list is comprehensive but slightly expensive but as it was a special night we decided to push the boat out and go for a good quality red which was fantastic. It? a little bit too dark in the restaurant which is a shame and when we went the heating was broken so a little chilly. A good recommendation for all those who like quality wine and superb steaks but be prepared to pay for it.
Gaucho – Manchester City Centregood buy one get one free restaurant
Charnley Arms – WiganAs an aficionado of their establishment in Bollington I'd been meaning to try Stock for some time. I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. The starter had an intense flavour & the main course of venison & mash was delicious. The wine was extensive and the Sardinian Red was excellent. As with Bollington there's a vast choice of grappa. How about one with truffles in though?!
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreAshfield house restaurant well worth a visit an elegant English country house which stands in its own landscaped grounds. As a wedding venue it caters for 120 to 200 guests, The restaurant has a very good reputation for fine food and wine. The 15 en-suite bedroom hotel also benefits from breath taking views of the Douglas valley.
Ashfield House Hotel and Restaurant – WiganMe and my friend go regularly and we always have a nice time and food is excellent.
Pizza Express – Manchester City CentreIt was quite awkward getting to the food and I felt quite rushed (bill was given before it was requested), but this is understandable for a Saturday evening really. The food was nice, a good selection with some interesting extras such as the cone shaped bundle of sushi wrapped in seaweed. Most impressive were the cocktails at a bargain £2.50! I had the 'wonderful island,' which I can't find a recipe for but it was absolutely delicious!
