Lovely atmosphere with real fire excellent food and service

Lovely meal. Great service. Already visited on numerous occasions. Always enjoyed. Can recommend.

Booked Sunday for late dinner, no beef left so we both had the roast ham which was the excellent along with the veg which was cooked differently.Service was prompt and the staff were pleasant and polite.Would return next time were in the area.

Very enjoyable evening with my wife and brother. We were served by Luke who was great fun and very attentive. A star for that young man! Food was good…. We’ll be back

Lovely atmospheric pub for a Sunday Roast, unfortunately they had sold out but the alternatives were very tasty & the service was excellent -5 stars

Enjoyed fish and chips here several times over the past 2 years. They have always been excellent. On Thursday however we were very disappointed. The battery always super thin and crispy was thick and soggy on the bottom. We left most of it. Service was excellent.

We had Sunday roast beef and lamb - have to say having had excellent meals without exception previously this meal was very disappointing- both the lamb and the beef looked and tasted like pre sliced meats and not from joints Veg was also a bit hard and no offer of additional gravy as advertised Also size of portions appears reduced for the same price Wouldn't eat Sunday roast there in future if that's the standard At least service remains good We had been very much looking forward to the meal but I'm afraid a let down- very surprised

An excellent meal with very attentative staff.

Another scrumptious lunchtime meal. A very warm welcome and excellent service from Lucy. We both enjoyed our meals.....chicken, leek & bacon pie with mash, mushy peas & gravy, absolutely delicious and the curried buttermilk chicken schnitzel & chips & salad, also absolutely delicious & good to try something different . Sadly we were too full for dessert! Such a lovely country pub, beautiful decor and the real fire was most welcome after a dog walk on a chilly day. Archie, our dog, was also made to feel very welcome. Would highly recommend....you won't be disappointed.

Excellent food at affordable price. Prompt & efficient service.

Went on a quiet Wednesday evening, greeted and served quickly, great food and service, made very welcome despite having a large dog with us (he was very happy with the dog biscuits). Recommend to all, good food, lovely old pub.

Really lovely meal (we both had the roast ham Sunday roast) and great surroundings. Service was a little slow as there was a large party upstairs but staff kept us informed and were very apologetic. We weren't in a rush so it didn't matter. The pub was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. Fabulous.

Dropped in on Friday and had the amazing salad and was lucky enough to get of their delicious garlic bread which was gorgeous.

This was our first visit to The Wheatsheaf set in picturesque Beetham. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and received excellent and attentive service from Tanya and Lucie. Our visit couldn't have been more enjoyable. Thankyou

Fabulous food and service as always from The Wheatsheaf. We have visited many times and will continue due to the excellent food and hospitality.

Tbh I picked this pub on their nice website photos but we were really glad we did. Both the food and service were both brilliant. Deep fried gherkins were legendary. We'll be back.
