The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely food and good service! Enjoyed the fish and chips. Family members loved the burger and the beef pie.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSuperb food, really nice attentive staff, lovely decor, would not hesitate to eat here again!!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe've visited the Tavern several times before, but our experience under this new management was by far the best. The decor has always been lovely, but this time the food was excellent, the service superb, and we were all of us struck by the warmth of the welcome from Sam. We'll definitely be making this a regular haunt from now on.
The Tavern At Hale – MilnthorpeLove the newly refurbished decor. A lovely warm welcome and the open fire was much appreciated. Our dogs were made welcome too. Excellent service provided by Bella, scrumptious food. Loved the beef pie, mash, mushy peas & gravy and the homemade sticky toffee pudding was light & delicious. The creme brulee & homemade biscuit were also excellent. Cannot fault our lunchtime dining experience. We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe booked for a table with six friends on a Saturday evening. The Wheatsheaf is a lovely cosy pub and the food is delicious. My only criticisms would be that our table was directly next to the front door, so we constantly had a cold draft everytime someone went in or out and were constantly getting up to close the door after everyone. I’m afraid the service was also far too slow and it’s not the first time we’ve had that problem. More attention should be spent on dining customers rather than talking at the bar.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat friendly service, excellent food at a reasonable price.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAlways a treat going to the Wheatsheaf. Whether it’s for lunch, dinner or just a swift half, we’ve always enjoyed our visit. A warm welcome, great atmosphere, lovely food and a smashing pint awaits.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeCalled for Sunday lunch. Very nicely cooked and quick professional service. Staff were welcoming and cheerful and we will certainly be renewing our acquaintance with the Wheatsheaf fairly soon.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA lovely pub. Always welcoming. Food was excellent, I loved the Lancashire Haggis! Friendly and cheerful service. Very good choice of beers including well-kept local ales. I often recommend the Wheatsheaf. Thanks to everyone!

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeEvery course was delicious and portions perfect
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe have been to the restaurant many times over the last few months, also have a lovely time, good food, and wine, very polite and good service by all staff, have recommended family & friends.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had the brioche bun with halloumi sticks. It was smothered in mayo and included many cold ingredients so the halloumi and portobello mushroom were cold too. Chips were lovely. Affogato was awful - the coffee and amaretto sauce was watery and it was served with an overdone ginger biscuit - an amaretto biscuit would have complimented better. Our friends chocolate brownie was really a chocolate sponge, it lacked the richness of a brownie. Staff tried hard and we were seated by the fire which was cosy. The wine was decent and beer good. The Wheatsheaf just needs a few tweaks to make it a great place to eat.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood was poor or at least below expectations. A sunday roast and fish and chips are a great test of a kitchen. They were both just about OK. The white fish was fresh but flaky, not suitable for deep frying. The triple cookedd chips were dry, possibly undercooked or left under warmer. Easiest thing in the world to do. Roast had veg piled in the middle of the plate covered in gravy that can only be described as Brown. Beef was overdone. Ill give the Wheatsheaf the benefit of the doubt and say it was a busy sunday running up to Christmas andthey were overbooked. I'd like to know one reason why I should give them my patronage again though
