The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad lunch with 2 other friends all ordering different meals with one being vegetarian. Have to say we all thoroughly enjoyed it as always. It was well presented, delicious and filling. Despite the place being very busy, the staff were very attentive and we did not have to wait long for our meals to arrive. I have dined at the Wheatsheaf on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. I think it is a great place in a beautiful setting and has a lovely atmosphere. No wonder it has been serving since 1609.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad Sunday lunch on 10/12/23 we ordered from the Specials menu, cauliflower & roast Chestnut soup with truffle oil & bread & butter, it was exquisite. Followed by Turkey roast again very tasty quality ingredients truly delicious and highly recommended. Used SugarVine booking all very easy, had an email reminder in the morning.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeService was very good - staff very attentive. Food was lovely and portions very generous. Only downside, was dining area a little cold and dark for the time of year, maybe consider an electric wood burner (would give nice effect)
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWent along as a family of three, with each ordering a different meal. The ale pie and nut loaf were both generous and flavourful. The roast of the day, although delicious, was a little dry. Would definitely return.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeMy wife & I enjoyed Sunday lunch there yesterday, holidaying in the area over the weekend. It was busy, which is always a good sign, there was a good number of staff, friendly & efficient, drinks to the table, acceptable short wait for our meal, a very good roast beef dinner and festive turkey dinner. Low alcohol/alcohol free beers available - we had Erdinger and Peroni. Very impressed for our first visit. It's dog friendly too, if you want to take your pooch. Free parking just across the road.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA warm welcome on a cold, very wet Sunday. The Sunday roast is one of the best around.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a very nice Sunday lunch recently. My partner thought the gravy was too thin and the veg undercooked. I disagree, the veg was fine and so was the gravy and there was plenty of it. The potatoes and veg were served in a pile on the plate, with the meat draped over the top. This kept the veg nice and hot. The service was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I would have liked apple crumble for desert, but it was all sold out. Probably best to get an early sitting! There were plenty of well behaved dogs about, so we’ll take ours next time.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFantastic all round service, staff were welcoming and the food was very high quality. Two of our party were vegan and it was great to see some vegan options on the menu including a non dairy ice cream which you rarely find in pubs and restaurants. Very happy and as we are moving to the area we will be back! The only minor criticism I have is that I would have liked to see one or two more real ales on offer.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAmazing food and fabulous service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThree different main courses chosen and all excellent. Lamb hotpot was delicious, as was the pie and fish and chips. Would highly recommend.
