We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Wheatsheaf the staff were friendly and helpful. Our family had a delayed journey the staff were very accommodating . The meal was excellent everyone enjoyed their lunch and it is good value. What more can you ask for. We have visited the Wheatsheaf several times over the past few months and on each occasion we have enjoyed our meals .

Food was fine - pie filled with meat. Shrimps just ok Service was poor in terms of clearing dishes. Several members of staff came - and took a few dishes away, saying we will be back shortly to clear the rest - but they weren’t, which meant that we were sitting for quite a long time with used plates. There were plenty of staff but they seemed lethargic other than the member of staff who was asking if things were ok. They were ok, but no better than that. We probably won’t come again, nor would we recommend.

Had a fantastic weekend at the Wheatshief. We were looked after very well. Great front of house and good food. Room clean, pub lovely. We will definitely come back. The only area where it could improve is the stairs and landing were not clean and need to be vacuumed and the pub floor when you come down for breakfast needs a sweep. Seemed to be a shame that everything was really good except the public areas. However we will return again

The food, ambience and service were all excellent. A very refreshing change to be able to actually hear chatter rather than some screaming diva. The food was clearly prepared by someone who enjoys producing a quality meal. Those serving the food and drinks were attentive and knew about what they were serving. A thoroughly pleasant dining experience. We also stayed overnight and the room was beautifully clean and well set out. Breakfast was very well presented and delicious. Well done Team Beetham!

Booked a table online. Greeted with a smile and shown to our table. Lovely waiting on staff. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. We both enjoyed our lunch and look forward to a return visit. Thank you to all the staff at the Wheatsheaf.

The food was excellent thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us . Would definitely recommend this place to eat and stay over .

Quality food which was well presented. Service was also very good in lovely surroundings. Overall great value.

Quality of food excellent. Unfortunately, they omitted one order from our table of six but they were most apologetic and offered one of us a complimentary drink. Overall it’s a nice ambiance and staff are nice.

Our second visit in recent weeks. Excellent, friendly and attentive service and great food. The menu has some interesting choices and it is good to see a range of different specials. We will be back again soon!

Enjoyable evening. Good food as was the beer and wine. We had a nice comfortable table and staff knew the menu which was reassuring as one of the party required GF.

This is our ‘go to’ stop on our way home from our holidays. As usual the staff, atmosphere and food were all great!

Visited restaurant Saturday 24th June pleasantly greeted and found the staff excellent the drinks reasonably priced and the food very good, also good portions well presented. The restaurant itself was well decorated and clean and a pleasant place to be, I noticed it was very dog friendly and this made it a more homely and welcoming place. In a beautiful building very well restored. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

The food was great and the staff and atmosphere even better!
