The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were on holiday in the area and booked a meal one evening. The staff were very attentive and the menu was interesting and varied. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBeen many times always enjoyed the food staff very helpful
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThe pub was busy and so service was slow. When we got our coffees they were warm at best. When our meals arrived which was quite a bit later, I found the fish batter too greasy for my taste but my husband enjoyed his ham, eggs and chips although the eggs were not runny. Also a tad expensive in general
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLove the Wheatsheaf, food is good in a great location. All the young staff are very well trained and engaging. Very good cask beer is a bonus.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAnother great meal at the Wheatsheaf,we eat here around once a month on our way from Frodsham to the Lakes.Never disappointed would particularly recommend the fish and chips,no plastic food here all freshly cooked.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – Milnthorpevery go0d especially the service
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAbsolutely superb couldn't fault in any way.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeService was fantastic, unfortunately quite a few menu options were not available, what was even more disappointing as we were eating at just after 6pm, so wouldn’t have expected 4 dishes to have sold out. The salmon dish was lovely, as was the fish and chips. However the falafel burger was disappointing. The burger was bland and the ciabatta bun was so hard, my daughter was unable to able to eat it.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeThe quality of the food was good and the level of service was excellent
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFriendly efficient staff Pleasing ambience Excellent food Will be returning
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeCan't recommend this place enough, lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeBooked one night - pleasant room with spacious en-suite shower all spotlessly clean. Bed a little firm for me but husband quite happy - just personal taste. We had dinner - I had the potted shrimp (delicious) and the salmon which was nice. Husband had the black pudding followed by Cobb salad - chicken a little dry but otherwise good. Breakfast the following morning was lovely- nice to start with a fresh fruit plate and the breakfast itself perfectly cooked with more coffee offered. Overall very pleasant stay in a characterful old pub - staff all very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend- good location for accessing the area.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe really enjoyed our evening at the Wheatsheaf. The food was excellent and imaginative but not too pricey. My wife absolutely loved the rhubarb and orange posset! Staff were very friendly. We'll come again.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAs people fairly new to the area, we were so looking forward to our lunch with friends, hoping that it would become a regular destination for us. Disappointingly, that wasn’t the case as the service was very poor. We waited half an hour at the table before drinks were served, the food came nearly an hour after our previously booked time and we gave up on waiting for the dessert menu to come, preferring to go home for tea and cake. We acknowledge that it was a glorious day and there were a lot of customers outside but it seemed to us that they took precedence over the people who had reserved a table. What a shame.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – Milnthorpemy wife and I enjoyed both our evening meals at The Wheatsheaf when we stayed over recently. The menu wasn't too complicated, there was plenty we could enjoy and the prices weren't expensive. The staff were all warm and welcoming & we had a great time, would recommend a visit, and we will be going back to stay and eat there when next up in the area later in the year.
