Lovely Sunday lunch, first visit and not disappointed. Great to have a veggie option as standard on a Sunday lunch menu as many don’t! We will be back.

Ate on Sunday evening and it was a good job we booked as some people had to be turned away. The food was lovely as always and service very good. One suggestion is to improve the lighting as we found it a bit dim on a winter’s evening, but overall a good visit. We’ll be back soon.

Amazing stay, the food was lovely, had an amazing roast dinner and apple crumble. The room was cosy and clean. The staff were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you

We go back a long time dining at the Wheatsheaf when visiting friends in Brigsteer it was always our stop off for coffee or lunch. Although they are no longer with us we still enjoy the 60 mile drive to the area. We had Sunday lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it served by attentive staff. We will still keep up the tradition and visit again soon.

Had a meal on Sunday afternoon. The food was great as normal but the service was a bit off. Tables not cleared, drinks ordered but not delivered and several extra drinks put on the bill.

Went for Sunday lunch and had booked the day before. However it was very busy and our table was tucked away by the side of the stairs and so was quite dark and cramped. However the staff and service was very good and the Sunday dinner couldn’t be faulted. Will certainly go again but not at that table. It wasn’t really suitable for anyone to eat their dinner.

This place is amazing. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. And as for the food we have never had a bad meal I would definitely recommend this place.

Good service, enjoyable food and a nice pint of Swan. If I had one observation, I would have appreciated some mashed potato with the Venison Stew. I had to leave some delicious gravy, it broke my heart !

I wanted to try this place out and so glad we did! Beautiful old pub in a lovely village. I loved the interior, a unique feel. Also loved the candle light. Service was excellent and attentive. Even drinks were served to the table. Food spot on and the price very reasonable. Will return

Love The Wheatsheaf! We went with friends and had a super meal - Roberto soup and venison stew, both delicious as well as the tasty lentil dahl curry. Friendly, efficient service and a lovely atmosphere.
