I was recommended this place for a roast so thought we'd give it a try. Very disappointed with the food, in particular the roast - luke warm at best, clearly just been reheated but not well enough. Roast potatoes stale inside and nowhere near hot enough. Gravy was extrem watery. Partner got chicken wings, again luke warm. Such a disappointment. Positives the staff were very pleasant.

We come to stay in Far Arnside regularly and have eaten at the Wheatsheaf a few times. The food is always lovely with lots of flavour and beautifully cooked. Reasonable price too considering the quality. Staff are pleasant and helpful and they are happy to accommodate you with what you want. Would definitely recommend.

Even though I had booked a table x 4 for 1pm, we found ourselves stuck in a corner on a small table with uncomfortable chairs. Issue was that there was an adjacent round able x 4 with comfortable chairs occupied by a couple with a dog. Why were we not put there and the 2 + dog seated on our table? They arrived just slightly before us so with a bit of forethought, it could have been managed better. Other than that, all good….

Lovely food and drink in a very nice and welcoming atmosphere

Lovely meal and very friendly service. Really nice atmosphere too . So nice to have such a fantastic local pub - and it’s dog friendly!

This venue was recommended by friends, so we booked for lunch on our way to the South Lakes. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was very good. Staff were aware of allergens and there were several gluten free choices for my husband. In fact he said it was the best gluten free fish and chips he has had anywhere.

Really enjoyed meal, food very tasty and well presented from a small but varied menu. Atmosphere slightly spoilt by a noisy group but that is hardly your fault. Will be back soon.

What a fantastic experience The Wheatsheaf at Beetham was. In a beautiful village lies this little gem of an establishment you simply must visit. If you want the best Sunday roast dinner you could ever wish for. Served to you by the most attentive and obliging staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. What a delightful place this is. It’s one of those places you want to keep a secret for yourself but to do so would be an injustice to the people that put the hard work in to making this experience. Dog friendly as well for those that have furry friends.

Attended with the family for Sunday dinner. Excellent food, really good quality service. We’ll definitely be attending again.

Excellent, this was our first visit and won’t be our last. Nice friendly atmosphere, didn’t realise that you could take your dog in, so ours will be included in our next visit.
