Good food and good service, well priced
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeMade a last minute booking for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very welcoming, and the bar and serving people were welcoming, helpful and professional. The food was excellent, and as the starter was a little too much for me I asked for a takeaway box which my server promptly provided. The main Cheese and steak pie with mash and gravy was also delicious. I was driving and so had an alcohol free beer and their choice of beers was excellent. Overall a very pleasant evening. I will be coming back soon.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeHad a couple of nights here for a family birthday - slight mixup over order but easily & quickly rectified - excellent local beer & fruity rose - pie tasty & salmon delicious - will be more than happy to stay & eat here again ...
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeVisited last Saturday night. A bit disappointed to find some menu items unavailable (presumably sold out) but still a good selection. The food is well cooked, well presented and good value for money and of course being a pub there is a wide choice of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks available. Staff were friendly and cheerful and it’s always nice to see a few dogs in attendance!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent pies as always. Really tasty food and good service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA party of 5 of us visited on Wednesday. The food was very nice - a slight issue with my husband’s meal - some of it being cold but this was resolved quickly and they brought him another one . A small point perhaps but all the plates were cold which doesn’t help with food temperature and could easily be resolved. My katsu curry was also very mild - I understand that it is difficult to cater for all tolerances and tastes but a bit more heat would have meant a more authentic dish.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeLovely Sunday roast option, especially for veggies. The only downside was the food was not particularly hot when we got it and we did have a relatively long wait for drinks. Everything was very tasty but service was slow - we were not in a rush but it would have been nice if all the desserts had come out together. Three of us had finished ours before the fourth arrived.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a fabulous meal here with our young dog. The staff were friendly and the service was great. Food wise we partook in the curry night offer which was great value including sides, a main and a drink. Both the Tikka and the butternut squash dhal were lovely and clearly freshly made with good quality ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again when in the area!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeQuality food and friendly service. As a vegetarian it’s sometimes difficult to find a good roast dinner but this is the best around by far! Great selection of different foods on the plate, generous portion sizes and extra gravy where needed.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeA great find for a family meal. The staff was welcoming and the atmosphere that of a proper pub. The food was delicious, home cooked with care which is refreshing to see. We'll definitely be back!
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeDelicious lunch, good polite enthusiastic service. Good value in friendly atmosphere.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGreat service, lovely food and wine and a very nicely decorated old Inn in a very pretty little village. We will definitely be back !
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeI cannot get enough of this garlic bread and the huge cobb salad - such fresh produce and so tasty. Service is professional and efficient and we were regularly asked if everything was ok which it was. Love the option of different beers and although not GF it was actually really nice anyway and more like the hoppy lager I like. There was also the option 0% freixenet prosecco. It was so quiet which was surprising as it was the perfect night to sit out but guess everyone was having BBQs.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeJust returned from a wonderful 2-night stay at Wheatsheaf. Great staff; really kind and helpful. A big thanks to Lucy who helped us arrange this. A lovely waitress, Isla, deserves a compliment too. Meals great; really enjoyed the steak and cheddar pie. Breakfasts really enjoyable…..wonderful scrambled eggs! Good room; spacious bathroom. So glad we managed the Fairy Steps! We’ll pay another visit.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeSuper food super service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe were staying at the Wheatsheaf and booked a table for 7.30pm. We also had breakfast the next morning. We shared a halloumi starter and both had the steak and Swan pie with mash. Very nice food, well cooked and nicely presented. There was lots of gravy but it would have been better if it was home made. The breakfast was excellent. Service was friendly and prompt. The IPA and black heart were also very good. I find Lancashire can be about 10% more expensive than Yorkshire but there you go.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAs always, great food, great service in a great pub.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe, two couples (Smallwood and Ryder), booked for two nights The Wheatsheaf and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Two very pleasant and clean rooms, with super bathrooms, which appeared fairly newly decorated. Terrific showers. We had breakfast on each of the two mornings, plus evening meals. The food was excellent on all accounts. They catered very well for my wife who has to have a strict Gluten and Nut free diet, which again the staff, 'Callum' and 'Lucy' we very thorough and attentive to my wife's requirements. Both Callum and Lucy were so friendly and made pleasant conversation from the minute we walked through the door ! Also a shout out to a new member of staff 'Flora', (I believe was her name). So nice to be served with a smile from a polite young lady. We will definitely return to The Wheatsheaf Inn ! Thank you to all.
