We had an excellent meal and the staff were efficient & friendly. We’d definitely recommend it.

Simply excellent

Very nice roast dinner, although the beef was on the tough side. Vegetables were good, as was the service - the menu was quite limited, and unfortunately food service finished at 6pm on a Sunday, so we had to eat early. We shared the crumble for pud, and it was delicious - generous portion too.

Superb food, as always. Never had a bad meal at The Wheatsheaf. Sunday dinner's are the best (nut roast is lush and hubby is a huge fan of the beef). I'm an IPA fan and there's always something on draft that I love. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. The staff are always warm and welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for great food at a reasonable price, then I'd highly recommend The Wheatsheaf. Booking is essential as it gets really busy, but it's simple to do online or with a quick phone call.

Food was fine had Sunday lunch, however the service was terrible plenty of staff, but they just seemed to be walking around missed empty plates and glasses, waited ages for a drink and had to ask twice if we could order food, it was busy but I have seen it busier, the manager was not there, he is usually really good very disappointed

Fantastic service and food at The Wheatsheaf again. Beautiful setting, lovely interior and atmosphere. My fish and chips were excellent.

We visited the Wheatsheaf with our family on Saturday lunch. It was excellent. Obviously fresh , well cooked, well presented and good service. We will certainly return. Good beer as well.

We have eaten here before and loved it. We fancied a drive out for an evening meal and it was worth the 100 mile round trip. Lovely atmosphere, great staff and the food was delicious. We’ll be back soon.

We had lunch at the pub, Fish finger (homemade) butty and chunky chips with side salad. Tasty & good quality although I would have liked a few more chips. Overall, good value. Great, friendly staff. Food & drinks reasonably priced. Lovely setting just off the A6.

We eat here fairly regularly. The food is good and the service excellent.

Stayed one night midweek. Enjoyed evening meal and breakfast. The food was we'll prepared and presented, generous portions very filling. The environment is that of an old coaching Inn, exactly what is required.

We had such a lovely family meal here. Everybody was so welcoming and helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The food was excellent; the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely deserving of its ‘famous’ status. Excellent. Thank you so much for having us.
