went to this place the food is cheap and nasty take years to get a drink and if you ask for water you would think you done a crime by the look on the waiter face.The new owners must be english the food is very poor.

We had a walk around china town to decide where to eat and I decided on King Neptune as it had crisp white table cloths and looked really popular. I certainly wasn't disappointed, fantastic, food wine and beautiful service.I have recommended this to friends and will be going back soon....

Relaxed atmosphere, good food and wine. Doesn't look like much from the outside but you disappear down a long corridor and come out in a charming rustic dinning area at the back of the building.

Lovely food every time I eat there! Staff are very friendly and the food is reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend it!

Visited 1 oak a few times for Sunday lunch everytime its been nice although the last visit was slightly disappointing as the roast beef seemed to be scrimped on. Going for night out next week sure it won't be disappointing.

Have all my parties here. Food is fab' wine is fab. Staff very helpful. We always waddle out, full of good food and good humour. I will be back !!

Have not been to Unos for a while but went last night and I must say it seems to get better and better. The food was great and the service fantastic. Keep it up Unos.

I have been visiting the Raj for about 5 or 6 years now, sometimes with my brother & his wife (who introduced us to it! -thanks!) and sometimes just with my partner. The Raj never fails in our expectations and the staff are friendly and polite. The owner always makes it his business to ensure that everyone is satisfied and he oversees everything going on in the restaurant. I have no hesitation in recommending the Raj tandoori.

We (the hubby and I) have visited HanaHana several times, either on the spur of the moment or as a celebratory meal. We've always been impressed. Not only with the quality of food, but also the amiability of the staff to our suggested menus. I've booked for tomorrow night as a surprise for the other half (although really it's just an excuse to divulge in sushi et al!). xx

Amazing food and service, have visited the restaurant many times and will continue to go back. My whole family loves solomons and this is often the choice restaurant for birthdays, celebrations etc!

The Silk Room is cosy and intimate, perfect for a romantic Valentines meal. Having booked due to an excellent recommendation from a friend, I had high expectations...and it did not disappoint! We were shown to our seats on arrival, surprising given how busy it was. Since it was Valentines day, there was only a set menu on offer, this however was not a problem as all the food on sounded amazing...I still couldn't decide!! I finally chose the Parsnip soup, followed by the Sea Bass with Lobster Ravioli, while my partner chose the Pate, followed by the Rump steak. Our meals arrived promptly, although we would have gladly waited given the standard. For dessert we chose the Chocolate Fondue to share...a chocolate lovers dream. The night as a whole was amazing. Service was outstanding, the food was delectable and the atmosphere was romantic, particularly when the gentleman on next to us proposed to his girlfriend. A most enjoyable evening. We will most certainly be returning soon.

The quality of the food at Silk Room was excellent, the atmosphere was buzzing and the service was spot on. We had a great night, wonderful food and excellent wine. For Newcastle prices, we felt it was really good value for money. The King Prawns were the best I've had. I love this restaurant and will be returning again soon.

Just wanted to say that having travelled to Newcastle on 19th February from a wintry and not so bonnie Scotland to end the day with dinner at your establishment was well worth the journey. Fabulous food, spectacular cocktails and ever attentive staff made for a truly memorable night. Thank you.

The service is appalling and I would recommend against going here. Very unpleasant experience. Not surprised it was almost empty. The food is ok but as good as many others - they don’t get that food is a complete experience not just the food - I recommend you avoid and recommend SR invest in recruiting people who have a good attitude

Last Friday I went for a meal with my children and wife. The food was great, there was a friendly atmosphere and my family enjoyed it hugely, especially my kids aged 6 and 10 so the kids menu was amazing for them. I was recommended by a family friend to go, I am glad I did and I will return shortly.

The service was so erratic 3 people in 1 minute then none for half an hour. The squid was rubbery with heavy batter The sizzling beef with ginger and spring onion was bland with no ginger The mango curry was tasty The batter on the banana fritter was like cardboard When we complained the staff were rude and the head waiter said not to come back Eastern Meadow take away in Jesmond is half the price and 3 times as good.
