The Living Room – Newcastle City CentreI went to Thai Siam recently with my boyfriend. Although the atmosphere was quite pleasant as it was calm and quiet, I was extremely disgusted by the food; the soup tasted like gravy with some kind of apparent chicken in there that tasted foul; the main course was standard but this really didn't taste like Thai food at all. It seemed more like something from the Chinese buffet. Additionally, just to top the already bad visit off, they added a 10% service charge; of which wasn't stated anywhere within the menu. There were two of us to serve, its not like we were a big group. And we ended up paying them 4.10 extra for doing their job. Utterly disappointing.
Thai Siam – Newcastle City CentreI've been to the Reza several time for the lunchtime special, and yesterday for the regular menu. The food has always been delicious. It makes such a pleasant change from going to an Indian or Chinese or italian. Quite different. It's good value and it's nice to be served with a smile. Thoroughly recommended!
Reza Restaurant – Newcastle City Centrethey say two wrongs dont make a right but let me tell you straight away, we had no complaints at all. fish was fresh, meat was cooked to perfection, the rice was better than any other asian outlet in Newcastle and the overall cost for the evening was 50% less than I expected to pay.
Hei Hei – Newcastle City CentreFantastic service, atmosphere and food. We arrived after being let down by another restaurant on 30/12 without a booking, and they really looked after us.
King Neptune – Newcastle City CentreThe restaurant food quality is good. The attitudes of staff are ok. The food is different from what we eat every day, location not really ok, but still an experience worth while you are at Newcastle upon tyne.
A Taste Of Persia – Newcastle City CentreAn excellent restaurant. amazing menu try the poached chicken starter it will blow your mind.
Hei Hei – Newcastle City CentreExcellent family run Italian restaurant with a wide selection of freshly made dishes and friendly staff
Vincenzos – Newcastle City CentreThe food was excellent, the best we have had in a long time. The price was good too. We will definitely be going back!
Vujon – Newcastle City CentreThe food smelt like fish, but tasted like chicken!
La Vita – Newcastle City CentreVujon is a lovely restaurant on Newcastle's Quayside. The menu has typical Indian dishes with a twist. The food does not fail to live up to the high standards one expects. However, the service is poor, plates are taken away whilst you eat, the staff show little interest when taking orders and constantly interrupt you throughout your evening. The service badly lets it down.
Vujon – Newcastle City CentreWOW!!!!thats says it all a guess!!!!
La Vita – Newcastle City Centreamazing value - currently early evening special is £5.50 fo 2 courses; real Italian food and flavours, good value wine list and friendly service, I have been with large groups, as a couple and on my own..... always good
La Vita – Newcastle City Centrei am a regular at Luigi's and have been for years. the food has always been fantastic at great prices and the staff treat you like a friend and always remember your face. best about it! . i didn't think it could get any better but it has!
395 Pizzeria – Newcastle City CentreVery disappointed by this restaurant. I went after reading the recommendations on this website on Sat 25th July. This is by no means good food (unless you are comparing it to microwave meals). Granted the entertainment is good but I've been to tepenyaki restaurants before and been more entertained. We had a cheap bag of salad to start followed by what was obviously a frozen spare rib, something that may have once resembled a scallop and a reasonably nice pork kebab. The main of chicken teryaki was tasty but I've had a lot better and the steak was bad quality meat, cut into tiny cubes and cooked until it was beyond eatible. Granted the rice and veg were nice but again, nothing spectacular. I attempted to wash this down with the worst (tasting and smelling) 1/2 pint of carling I have ever had (dirty glass and very bad lager - they should really check their pipes!) but had to give up and move onto the house beer (very nice by comparison). I must say I was sadly disappointed as this was not a cheap meal if it I had been in a table service Japanese restaurant, I would have sent the food back. The entertainment served as a slight distraction. Such a shame but I will be recommending that people don't go here. The people who have recommended on this site must have an interest in this business (or no taste buds)
Fujiyama – Newcastle City CentreWas very disappointed with the level of the food. I don't mind paying for quality but this was not it. I had the Kobe beef burger at around £17 which lacked flavour and had a few grizzly bits in to top it off. The prawn starter came in a gloppy overpowering garlic sauce. Until they install a decent chef the Silk Room is not worth visiting and compared to other similar priced venues such as Cafe 21 or Mal Maison.
Silk Room Restaurant and Champagne Bar – Newcastle City CentreEverytime I visit here I remember why I keep coming back, the staff are courteous and helpful, the food is well prepared and generous and the atmosphere makes a great evening. you can go as a couple for a meal with a difference or perfect for a celebration. Highly recommended
Hanahana – Newcastle City CentreIt was my wife's birthday recently so I had to find somewhere she would enjoy. We love the atmosphere of Stowell Street and my wife particularly enjoys Thai food. I booked Thai Siam because we have visited and enjoyed the Mandarin, the sister restaurant often before. At Thai Siam the staff were equally fantastic and took the time to advise on meals (for me). They understood my tastes exactly, were attentive and extremely polite. The food we must say was second to none, presented and cooked to perfection. We will definitely visit again, and again. Fantastic!
