Orchid – Newcastle City CentreWe have regularly visited Hanahana over the years but never written about our experiences. This is in our opinion the BEST Japanese restaurant in Newcastle and we have visited many. Paul and his staff are fantastic. We have never had a disappointing meal. The Saturday lunchtime menu is a delight and a bargain. The surroundings are adequate but I visit a restaurant for the food and service not the wallpaper etc. Try the sushi and the teppanyaki menus. Awesome!
Hanahana – Newcastle City CentreMy family and I always enjoy meals at Peppy's because of the friendly service provided by Vince, his wife and their staff. We'd always recommend this restaurant. My friend is coming over from Sedgefield especially to visit Peppy's and enjoy the food there} it's superb everyone should try it
Vincenzos – Newcastle City CentreVisited on a Monday evening and I was very impressed. The service was very friendly. Plenty of choice for vegetarians. The portions were bigger than I would normally expect for tapas. Particular highlights were the potatoes in a spicy sauce, the baked aubegine with cheese and the rice with mixed vegetables. With each dish being between £3 and £5, the food was great value as well as being very tasty. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and overall an excellent dining experience. Much better than that offered by some of the chain tapas restaurants.
El Torero – Newcastle City CentreThis is my favourite restaurant in Newcastle, the food is incredibly reasonably priced, full of flavour and there is a fantastic variety. The waiting staff are great and friendly, I would eat here every night if I could.
Vincenzos – Newcastle City CentreThis place has a lot to offer.Great choice of meal, excellent service, unbelievable prices and incredible atmosphere. Whenever I go there with my friends we just feel like being at home with people who will do anything to make sure you enjoy every second. What else can you wish for?
Mamma Mia – Newcastle City CentreJust had the early evening special, £6.95 for starter, main, choice of rice + coffee. Only £2.50 for a nice chilled pint of lager. Have to say it was as good as any Indian meal I have had, big portions cooked as fresh as can be, couldn't fault it. Recommend keema pilau, peshwari nan and sag paneer to accompany. Only a couple of other people dining so service was perfect. Tip; You may have to ask for the special menu as they were handing out the full price ones otherwise.
Koh-I-Noor – Newcastle City Centresuch a great spot for a restaurant - feels like you have escaped the city! tried black pudding for the first time on my last visit and it was superb, followed by a really delicate north sea fish cake. a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I always enjoy going to blackfriars.
Blackfriars Restaurant – Newcastle City CentreA visit to the Komal is a delicious experience. It has a great atmosphere which is complimented by friendly and courteous staff. As for the food ... simply put, nowhere comes remotely close to the scintillating flavour sensations. Excellent menu, full of choice for vegetarians and carnivores alike!
Komal Balti House – Newcastle City Centrethis has to be one of the best ever genuine chinese restaurants in Newcastle. Try the spicy crabs, the cold chicken and sesame starter, the shredded duck, the spicy lamb. Its like being in China I tell you- and I've been there many times. The owner Mark is super friendly and can advise on your taste buds. it the business.

Mamma Mia – Newcastle City CentreFantastic little place. extensive authentic main menu, along with takeaway favourites, food is absolutely gorgeous, and the lunch and happy hour menus are excellent value. went here for the first time a few weeks a go, and i've been 4 times since!
Chinatown Express – Newcastle City CentreThe food was so fresh and tasty - I had a tiger prawn starter and then a steak - all locally sourced and meat organic and you can taste the quality.. the service was so friendly. Try and get a booth if you can! They also bake all their own bread and desserts - I can't believe I've lived in Newcastle nearly 4 years and only just discovered it - it was busy, def Newcastle's best kept secret!
Paradiso – Newcastle City Centrethe pizza were crap. I gave specific instruction very little cheese and they put so much in. there chicken looked old and hard and it smells
Meal 2 Go – Newcastle City Centrethe food was shit, there were rats in the restaurant, and the staff are not helpful. I had to wait 43 minutes for my starter, and there were only three people eating.
Khyber Tandoori – Newcastle City CentreWe went for my birthday in aug it is so nice def go again really nice food.
Hanahana – Newcastle City CentreI've been for curries in West Midlands, Rushholme, Brick Lane and Southall, and this a great curryhouse. Best in the northeast in my opinion
