My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary. Had a great night, food and staff were first class, only downside was the wait. We had booked for 9pm and did not get seated till 9.30pm. The atmosphere at the table was excellent everybody including the chef had a night to remember. Thoroughly recommended.

I agree with the sentiment about this place being inexplicably quiet. The food is good, the service and atmosphere are excellent and it is very reasonably priced. A good bet if you want a quieter meal in Stowel Street.

El Torero is absolutely fantastic! The food is always amazing, and the service is excellent. We always have three dishes each plus bread to share and drinks and our bill is never more than about thirty pounds. Not bad for a lovely meal in a brilliant atmosphere. Highly recommend going if you haven't been yet!!

The food is great and love the bar too, however you need to have plenty of time as the staff like to chat amongst themselves.

I've been there several times with my friends. The food is excellent and delicious, specially the "Chicken Tikka Mosalla" And of course Service is outstanding. The waiters are very smart, helpful and always smiling.I love this place.

A positive change from your typical chinese in Newcastle. The menu is extensive but there is something for everyone and at a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit even for an early dinner.

El Torero is my most favourite restaurant of all time. The food is amazing, the service is relaxed and friendly and you can really tell the people who own the place are proud of it. I tell everyone to go here as you really need to experience the food to believe how good it is! so go!!!

I love this place. The food is great, the waiters are friendly and the price is super-cheap. Even the boss came down to have a chat with the customers!!! =)

One word: unique. Me and my family went there for my mother's 50th and had such a fun time. The large room with authentic stone walls from the bridge is unlike anything I've seen before! The staff seem a lot of fun and the pizzas are probably the best around. Highly recommended!

Went for a Friday night 'romantic' meal, only to find the place totally empty. This made for a bit of an awkward atmosphere, although it's not something that Latif's can be directly blamed for. The food was exquisite, but ruined by some sarcastic and abrupt service. Indeed, when we ordered two Mango Lassie? for dessert, we were greeted with surprise and distain - despite it being on their dessert menu. Overall, it was a real shame, because (although pricey) the food was up there with the best Indian? in Newcastle.
