Excellent food again - friendly attentive staff.

Lovely place to eat by the canal. Lots of tables outside, or you can book for a table indoors. It has a dog friendly area. We come to eat here when we are on holiday as the food is tasty, the service good, and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Lots of menu choices, although this year we noticed that the menu was the same as last year. It might be nice to have a couple of new main dishes to choose from.

Easy to book table online. Service and food very good

We had a group meal for 15 persons. The service was excellent. The meals were served in the attractive conservatory and the atmosphere was superb. All our meals were served without delay. The quality of food was up to its usual high standard. This was our third group meal and we will definitely return.

Enjoy going to The Hopping Hare. However this time not up to the usual standard. We were the only ones in the restaurant but it was a little while before we were asked for a drink order and longer to get them. Most food was good however 1 meal was not up to standard and this was deducted from the bill. We will give it another visit

Took my mum for an 80th birthday lunch and was blown away by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. The roast dinner was superb, the starters were lovely and the desserts were moreish. We’d travelled down from Scotland and I guarantee we’ll return the next time we’re down . The staff were attentive , fun and polite. All in all a fabulous experience 12/10

A friend and I visited on the recent Bank Holiday Sunday for drinks and a meal. The range of real ales on offer was reasonable, as was the price. The table I had previously reserved for supper was immediately available, and comfortable (so far as the heat-wave allowed!), though noisy motor-bikes right outside the window were annoying (restrict them to the car park??). Waiting staff were attentive and polite, despite the busyness of the place due to the weather and the Holiday. Both our starters (Brixworth pate and baked Camembert), as well as my main (black & blue salad, with the most tender rare steak I've ever eaten!) were delicious. However, my friend noted that his lamb koftas were both over-salted and over-cooked: the outer crust was very dry.

Excellent meal. Good menu with plenty of choice, loved the presentation and food enjoyed the very friendly efficient service. Recommended

Lovely dinner this week with my family celebrating 2 birthdays, service was great the food was amazing - 3 of us had steak and one had burger and its the best pub food we have had for a long time - highly recommend!
