Great Sunday Roasts. Always a lovely experience at The Hopping Hare. Meals are consistently superb & our Sunday Roasts lived up to their very high standards. The staff are attentive without being over fussy, the beers & lagers are very good and the atmosphere is lovely too. We return again and again and have done over the last 20yrs or so. 10/10 from us

Great little place on a beautiful surrounding with really good food

We were all thoroughly delighted with the Sunday roast we had yesterday at the HH. The roast beef and the roast chicken were absolutely divine and extremely well priced for the size of the portions. The beef being cooked in a water bath before roasting made it just fall apart and the best roast meat I have ever had. My partner had the chicken and was equally as impressed. My son opted for the beef burger and again, really enjoyed it! We will definitely be back

Service was excellent, Burgers were amazing, the only thing i did not like about the pub is that they allow dogs in the eating areas which is fine but not when your allergic to them. Would recommend they have an area for eating with dogs and one for no dogs , as we were not asked if it was OK for two dogs to be on the next table to us .

Service and food was absolutely brilliant , everything was hot and well presented, staff were really lovely and friendly and attentive without being overly attentive, they got it just right. Definitely will be returning

We have used the Admiral Nelson a few time, me and my family had lunch there yesterday 13th May. They were very busy for a lunch time , every time we’ve been there, the service has always been excellent , the food good, and great value for money. I would certainly recommend this pub.

We visited on Sunday 10/5 for a pre booked Sunday lunch. While it’s not a regular eating place for us we do see it as a “treat” meal and we weren’t disappointed. Our booking was for 2.30 pm and the place was still busy, our table was ready, nicely laid out with cutlery and sparkling glasses, the staff were welcoming and smiley. Our choice of food was a beautiful, well cooked lamb joint Sunday lunch and we weren’t disappointed. The meat was plentiful and cooked just pink, the veg gave us choice, not too raw but enough bite served a large white plates. The staff left us to enjoy our food, not pushy in anyway, just a relaxing tasty meal. Well done

Food was excellent, service was great. I have eaten at The Hopping Hare before but our 2 friends it was there first time, they both thought the food, service the great and was excellent value.

Good food at a reasonable price. We had a vegan in our party and she was very happy with the vegan menu. Friendly and helpful staff. It is good at the present time that you can get decent food at a fair price which it is at the Hopping Hare.

What a great place this is. My fourth visit and it's always great! I drive an hour to get here but it's so worth it. The pub is in a beautiful spot right next to the canal with some lovely walks around it but the real pull is the amazing food that is served here. This time I had the Sunday roast, which I have had before and it was so good. I had the pork and plenty of food that was so tasty and delicious. We had a little walk then back for dessert they were also delicious. The staff here are all so friendly and lovely and the service is the best! Great atmosphere here even though it was busy, we were looked after very well. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back

Lovely food, reasonably priced. Excellent friendly service, lovely atmosphere, nothing to much trouble.

Always our go to restaurant for special occasions and ad hoc dinners - quality is great, service is great and the value is much better than the deep frying/microwaving so called gastropubs that flatter to deceive. We will be back - often

Very nice meal. I had steak and ale pie with cheesy mashed potato. The mash tasted homemade the broccoli was cooked perfectly with a like crunch and hint of butter. Pie equally good. Excellent service and nice ambience. Would definitely return

Outstanding value, excellent food, supurb portions. Friendly and efficient team who, despite being busy on a lovely sunny day, served four set lunches without any delay or undue rush. The set menu offers a perfect choice and is prepared well, presentation is spot on.
