The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichAnother excellent meal (gammon steaks) for our special occasion. A pleasure to eat where there is genuine traditional atmospere and service.

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichLovely Chippy Tuesday meals at The Plough at an excellent price, spoilt by slow service. After finishing our meals and having our plates cleared, despite being seated near the bar and having the two staff passing regularly, we weren’t offered a dessert menu or asked if we wanted more drinks. After about 20 minutes wait, we went to the bar, paid and left. The only explanation given was that they were trying to sort the fire alarm which kept going off. They managed to serve the other tables beyond us with food and drinks. It wasn’t all that busy.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichExcellent
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichWent along for "Chippy Tuesday", fish, chips and peas for £10! Hard to resist at that price but did that mean small portions or poor quality? Oh my goodness, couldn't be more wrong. HUGE fish and plenty of chips and it was all really delicious!!! The fish was perfectly battered and everything was piping hot! Worth every penny. Unfortunately the drinks were a bit pricey, nearly £7 for a pint of lager!!!! Almost as much as the food!!! Took the shine off it a little bit.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichWe went for a Sunday Roast Sharer, it did not disappoint. Lovely food and lovely staff. Will definitely be making this my fave place for a roast

The Plough at Whitegate – Northwich5 of us taking mother in law out. Food was lovely but service was very slow considering pub was empty. Service was good but 2.5 hours was too slow

The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichTook a friend for a birthday lunch. Food was all delicious and all hot. The pie was smaller than it used to be ...but that is a BIG plus as it used to be overwhelming. This time perfect size and really tender. Also meant we had a tiny bit of room for pudding - again perfect. Thanks to all at the Plough for consistent tasty lunches.
The Plough at Whitegate – Northwichnormally over the years i have been going we have received great food but on this occasion the food was below the normal standard expected
The Plough at Whitegate – Northwichthe food was lovely as always great fish & chips
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichIt was our first visit to The Plough, we'd booked in for Sunday Lunch. We sat out front of the pub as the weather was so good. The Sunday Roast was cracking, and my other half had the Mushroom Starter and some chips, which were really tasty (plenty of it too) Tried the Helles Lager which was really good. Prices were very reasonable as well, we'll definitely be back.
The Plough at Whitegate – NorthwichClearly based on other reviews we must have come for lunch on a ‘off’ day. My steak burger was unfortunately dry and cremated, and to be fair, it was happily replaced for a much better fresh serving. My wife’s liver and bacon dish was good, although the advertised red wine ju was more like regular gravy. I just came away with the overall impression of a very ‘tired’ pub!
