We had a lovely meal in a lovely friendly atmosphere. The staff where very polite and friendly. The food was very good, we don't usually have a sweet but pleased we did. We would definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding, it was really light

Wonderful food and great friendly service

We went there yesterday and it was a fantastic experience: very good food and a friendly service. They know what they do! Next time in Penrith we‘ll go there again!

Lovely friendly staff Amazing food

From appetizers through to desserts, the food was delicious and nicely presented. The restaurant was airy, open to an outdoor garden seating area and delightfully quiet even with every table occupied.

We had not been here for 10 years has maintained it amazing standard . Everything was spot on food service and ambiance.

My friend visited Penrith for the first time and we really enjoyed the food and service. She is gluten free/dairy free and the staff were very accommodating with GF bread, a starter option and offered a DF option to accompany the monkfish. Lovely experience - I shall be back.

A wonderful restaurant! Great food and service, we loved every single dish. Nothing was too much trouble, there was a lovely warm welcome and a calm atmosphere. We would recommend the fish dishes we had, they were really delicious. The desserts were just as good, especially the Baileys Roulade. We cannot wait to return.

Booked Grants just from the look of the menu and it was close to where we was staying, fabulous services, friendly staff and delicious food, worth every penny!

Overall the meal was disappointing and we felt overpriced. The 4 of us enjoyed the starters. The sea bass main was very good, the cod main was good though the fondant potatoes were more like roast potatoes. Unfortunately the mushroom linguine was tasteless. The sticky toffee pudding had obviously been microwaved and was dry and hard though the sauce was good. Service was unusual.

We had such a great experience at Grants of Castlegate, Penrith. Very friendly helpful staff and the most delicious food. We had scallops which were fresh and beautifully cooked, I could go back and do it all over again. Stunning lamb dish and wine. Really memorable, thank you so much.

We stopped off at Grants on the way to the Lakes and I’m pleased we did! Phenomenal food, great value and lovely service.

We visited following a recommendation from our B and B host for my husbands birthday. The menu isn’t massive but is varied and means the food is fresh and extremely well cooked and presented. I had the fillet steak and my husband the monkfish - my steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. Food was tasty and the staff very attentive. Would return if we are in the area again.

We had a lovely meal at Grants. The twice-baked cheese soufflé was excellent, as was the fillet steak. Loved the conservatory area leading to garden area beyond.

Excellent service and the meal was superb. The prawn starter is incredible and I could have eaten that 10x over. The quality of the fillet steak was brilliant, very lean.
