Been eating here for years, always been good food but over the last couple of years has improved still further. The Sunday lunch is legendary, but to be honest some of the week night specials are exceptional too. It can get busy, especially on Sundays! Reservation recommended to avoid disappointment.

Amazing service and lovely food - it’s a great menu and the food is so fresh and well prepared. Brilliant setting and just a fabulous place to eat.

A lovely meal in an idyllic village pub with great service .one minor issue, just one small slice of halloumi was a bit tight on the vegetarian dish which tasted lovely.

The food was absolutely fabulous. The taste was brilliant and the dish I had was to die for. The service was friendly but professional and detailed. Great value for money in lovely surroundings.

Visited for a birthday meal. From the booking process through to the meal the staff were incredible, so helpful and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing, beautiful choice, great ingredients, wonderfully presented and tasted amazing! Good portion size too. We were allowed to take our own cake, they let my son bring it out and even took it to the kitchen to cut it up for us etc. lovely atmosphere, smart but relaxed and friendly. 100% recommend

Fabulous as always best sunday lunch for miles ..

We called for Sunday lunch, and as always it was delicious! Everything was well seasoned and cooked very well. The staff are friendly, polite and there seems to be little turnover of them. My husband is gluten intolerant. Excellent food choice and delighted to have GF beer on tap!!! Not cheap but worth the cost. Highly recommend.

Super country pub serving excellent food (the homemade pie was one of the best I've ever eaten). Friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

My wife and son were visiting Penrith for a family gathering and needed somewhere to eat on Friday evening. I found Grants on TripAdvisor - it had great reviews and was convenient for where we stayed. The evening did not disappoint. The service was helpful and attentive but not overbearing. The food was fantastic with some wonderful flavours. I would definitely go again if I was in the area. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, old public house with traditional features maintained. Welcoming and friendly staff. Good service times. Tasty food: we ordered the beef pie and the vegetarian pie. The pint we ordered tasted like it was from the bottom of the barrel. It was exchanged without fuss - thank you.

What a lovely place! Excellent food with a wide range of choices. Service very friendly and welcoming. Even the background music was perfect for us. Cannot speak too highly of this place!

Excellent food and service. Seated straight away. Menus and drinks arrived quickly. The lamb dish was with a salad, asked if it could be served with veg, no problem and was delicious. We all (four ladies) had a lovely time, and would definitely return

Unbelievable experience. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food unbelievable. A gem in Penrith that needs to be visited… more than once. If we are ever back this way we will definitely be stopping in again.
