First time at Grants but it won’t be the last. The food is excellent. I had the cheese soufflé Lamb and sticky toffee pudding. Portions were perfect. My husband had the steak which he is still talking about days later. The service was friendly. The wine was very good. The atmosphere was relaxing. We don’t dine out much because we are always disappointed as we can cook better ourselves. We were very impressed would certainly recommend. Thank you

Made a reservation based on previous reviews We where passing through whilst on holiday Wish the restaurant was closer to home The food was exceptional as was the greeting from staff Fillet was cooked to my liking and was great quality The Lamb my wife ordered was the softest and tender she has tasted in a while Would highly recommend

Lovely meal with inventive choices. Scottish halibut perfectly cooked; lamb tender. Rhubarb ice cream - yum! Best of all local servers were attentive and professional. Would have stayed in flat above if we knew of possibility. Such an iconic village accessible to many beautiful walks. Highly recommend.

we booked this for a family meal was please to see they can cope well with allergies offering alternatives or alterations to suit dinners, we had a full three course meal with wine all the food was great and good value we all had a great time and would recommend and happily go back next time we are in Penrith, Thank you

I had the most wonderful meal with my friend who had never been to the Horse and Farrier and she was delighted with the fish and Chips she had. She said it was the best cooked fish she has ever had. My meal course was very colourful in the way it was presented and the taste was reflected in the taste, it was delightful and very memorable meal. The service was good and friendly.

Absolutely delicious. So good we ate there twice on our short break to the lakes. Inventive menu, high quality local ingredients at a fair price. Highly recommended!

Excellent food and good service. We enjoyed our visit very much. Be aware that much of the restaurant is accessed by a short flight of stairs with a chair lift.

Delicious meal, beautifully cooked and nicely presented. A gastropub, rather than a local, but set in a lovey location not far from Penrith. Highly recommended.

Been a couple of times now and the food has been exceptional on both occasions. The menu has a good variety on both food and drinks. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend it to anybody, and will definitely be back.

Really lovely food. Well presented, fantastic combination of flavours. The restaurant looks quite unprepossessing from the outside, but was a real revelation inside! Would recommend to anyone who really loves food.
